Falling For A Friend

Getting Together

As she arrived in school Veronica couldn't hide the smile on her face after the events of last night. Not only did she confess her feelings for Betty, but the girl she had been in love with for three months had admitted that she felt the same way.

Her face lit up even more when she saw Betty. The blonde smiled and said: "I think you and me have a lot to talk about". The girls then went into a private room so they could talk about what had happened the night before without being disturbed by anyone.

When they could be sure they were alone, Betty said: "I just want you to know that I meant every word of what I said last night. The truth is, I'm in love with you and I want us to be together". Veronica couldn't believe what she was hearing and could only reply: "I love you so much".

Betty continued: "I've spent my whole life trying to make everyone else happy and be the person I'm expected to be but I need to start thinking about what I want, what I need- and the truth is I'm gay and there's nothing I want more in this world than to be able to call myself your girlfriend".

Veronica couldn't contain herself and wrapped her arms around Betty and crashed their lips together in the most passionate kiss either of them had ever experienced before. When air became an issue their lips parted and Veronica said: "you have no idea how much I've wanted to hear you say that".

The brunette continued: "I knew I was in love with you the moment I first met you, but you're also the best friend I've ever had. I've been too scared of admitting how I feel but after last night I couldn't hide it any more- and now I'm glad I did".

Betty replied: "I wanna promise you one thing. Whatever anyone else says or thinks, I don't care. Nobody is gonna stop us being together whether they like it or not" before giving her new girlfriend another kiss.

Betty couldn't believe that she had wasted so much time not allowing herself to be honest about her feelings for Veronica. She was determined that she wasn't going to waste any more time though. She was finally going to allow herself to be happy with the girl she loved.

The girls both agreed that they weren't going to tell anyone just yet. Veronica was hopeful that her mum would be supportive of her no matter what, but they both knew that the chances of Betty's mum supporting them were absolute zero and Veronica didn't want to see her girl hurt.

The one person they did tell was Kevin. After all, he was the first person that Veronica had come out to and, as a friend to both of them, he picked up on how they were acting around each other and made a point of asking Betty about it and she didn't even attempt to hide it.

After school Betty went round to Veronica's house to 'study' but in reality they spent most of the time snuggled up on Veronica's bed kissing and hugging. Betty said: "why did we waste so much time worrying and not just be honest with each other sooner?"

Veronica replied: "none of that matters now. All that matters is that we're together now and I'm never gonna let you go". Betty said: "well I'm glad to hear it, you're stuck with my forever". Both girls laughed before they shared a soft kiss
