"C'mon, you gotta stay positive. Look at the bright side of things."
"I'm not sure there's much of a bright side to look at. It's pretty much all shadows from where I'm standing."
"Hey, but you need sun to have shadows. So, if you're all shadows that means it's really bright!"
"Seriously, now you get all sciencey. Where was all this knowledge on our test last week?"
"That wasn't my fault! I don't remember learning about lipases or angiosperm. I think Mr. Fields just made up some fancy words and thought it would be funny watching us try to answer fake questions."
"We literally just learned that the week of the test."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes."
"But, are you really sure?"
"Yup."
"Like super duper sure because I don't even remember there being class that week. Weren't we on March break or something?"
"I'm super duper sure. And no we weren't on break and I know you were there because you were sitting right next to me. Plus March break is in March, dummy. Not October."
"Sure, I'll act like I believe you."
"Whatever."
"Are you laughing at me?"
"Yes. Yes I am."
"Gasp"
"You did not just say 'Gasp'!"
"Yes. Yes I did."
"Touché"
"I gotta go. You know, science homework."
"We didn't have any science homework."
"Ok, fine! My parents just got home with groceries and they bought cupcakes. So, technically I'm doing an independent project discussing how eating cupcakes affects your endorphins. So I really better go get started on that, it could take a while. May have to eat more than six, just to be sure my research is consistent."
"Impressive. Never pegged you to be the kid who does extra credit. I'll talk to you tomorrow."
"Thanks, glad to know you have such confidence in me. Bye."
