-outside of Sonic's house-
Sonic: Okay, so the first thing to being nice, is having a nice smile!
Shad: Sonic, that is not the most important detail of being nice.
Sonic: And you would know this how?
Shad: Hmph!
Sonic: So, let's see it.
Spikes: Me smile?
Sonic: Yeah, it's easy.
Spikes: Me smile no nice. Me no like smile. *smiles with an evil sense to it and sharp disgusting teeth*
Shad/Sonic: Whoa!
Spikes: Me told you.
Shad: Okay, I can't stand it anymore! I tried my best, but it's irritating me now!
Sonic: What are you talking about, Shad?
Shad: His grammar is way off!
Spikes: *pouts and starts to tear up* Me sorry. Me never went school. Me know nothing right. Me just mess-up. Me never good.
Sonic: No, no, don't say that. *wraps arm around his shoulder* We'll help you. First off, when you're talking about yourself, you say I instead of me.
Spikes: I?
Sonic: Yes. So, say that you like to eat ice cream.
Spikes: Me, no, I like eat ice cream?
Sonic: Close. Now, in between like and eat, say to. It's called an infinitive.
Spikes: I like t-to eat ice cream?
Sonic: Yes! There you go!
Spikes: I like to eat ice cream! Me, no wait, I did it! I like it!
Shad: You're getting better, finally.
Sonic: Shadow, be nice.
Knux: Hey, guys, what-WHAT'S HE DOING HERE!?!?!
Sonic: Knuckles! Calm down!
Knux: HOW CAN I WHEN HE KILLED ME AND STOLE THE MASTER EMERALD!?!?!?!?
Spikes: Knuckles, I sorry.
Sonic: Now, you need something called a linking verb.
Spikes: Linking verb?
Sonic: Yes, a linking verb. You use it to link the subject with the rest of the sentence. The most common are the forms of the verb: to be. With I, you'd use am. So trying adding a linking verb to you're sentence.
Spikes: Okay. Knuckles, I a-am sorry.
Sonic: High-five! *give Spikes a high-five* You're such a great student. We're teaching him how to be nice and giving him a few grammar lessons too.
Knux: Oh, okay. Just watch out for him. I don't want anymore mishaps. *leaves*
Shad: Alright, continue with the lesson.
