Beeping, dark, comfy, tears, my cat, Shadow is staring at me.
I'm awake, my alarm is going off. I roll over with a groan and turn it off, only to roll back and cover my face. It's almost soggy, I had been crying. Memories of my dream start to flow back into me. I'm crying again.
They almost got to her, I think to myself. They're getting stronger now. I need to fix this.
I drag myself out of the bed and put on my usual outfit: a black hoodie with jeans. My phone buzzes, someone sent me a text. It's Maddy, she's asking "U awake". I shoot her a quick reply and finish getting ready.
I walk into the kitchen and put on my mask, pretending nothing happened. I grab some cereal and have the normal kitchen conversation: "Did you sleep well", "What are you doing today", "Have a good day at school." All of them answered with a lie. I don't want to deal with this. I quickly finish my cereal and drive to school.
How am I supposed to face Maddy.
