Concrete, music, people, loud, backpacks.

I'm sitting on the curb, headphones in my ear. I've been creating lies so Maddy doesn't notice the thoughts and pain going through my head. She drives into the parking lot and parks in a spot. She comes out waving at me. Ah, her beautiful blonde, curly hair, her perfect, flawless skin. It's so perfect that it makes me want to die of love. I walk towards her and give her a kiss.

"Morning sleeping beauty," I say with a wink.

"Morning love," her faint British accent rolling off of her tongue, makes my heart flutter for joy. "Are you alright? You look like you've seen a ghost."

Maybe I have. "Nah, I just didn't sleep well last night," I say with my best smile. She just stares at me with a hard look. How can she always see through me?

"Sebastian. What happened," she demands.

I avoid looking her in the eye, "Nothing, I'm fine."

"Sebastian. Look at me." I look her in the eyes and instantly regret it. Those eyes, it's as if she can see into my soul and read my thoughts. "What's wrong?"

I need to avoid this. "I'll tell you later. I promise." Her face relaxes a little. She knows I always keep my promises.

"I'm going to hold you to that," she kiss me on the lips and we walk into school.

Damn, what am I going to do now.
