*Still Jai's POV*

I walked into the office after knocking and saw mia backing away,  why was she doing this?

"Hey Mia, Im Jai"

*Mia's POV*

I heard a knock on the door and turned to look who it was, it was the one and only jai brooks! so Jenny wasn't lying afterall. 

As jai got closer I felt myself backing away, it was just my instinct to do this, it was a man coming closer to me and I don't know what he's going to do, why would I stand still.

"Listen Jai, I really do love you guys and I really would love for you to adopt me but I just can't have you touch me for now. I really need you to just stop right there" I said as confidently as possible. I could see the hurt in his eyes and I felt the guilt starting to build up throughout my body.

*Jai's POV*

As Mia said this I was so confused,  it must have been something to do with her past,  why else would she be afraid of me?

I decided to calm her, "okay that's fine by me Mia, I would love to adopt you and the other boys would too, just take your time, we're not going to rush you into anything. "

"So Jenny, is it okay if me and the boys adopt Mia?"

I heard a small voice from the corner reply "You can adopt me but I thought you were from Glenroy, Melbourne"

I turned to see Mia looking to her feet, with her sleeves pulled down as far as possible,  she looked so innocent. 

"Yeah, that's right Mia, we want to take you back to sunny Australia with us, would you like that"

*Mia's POV *

I was moving to Australia,  I was leaving everything and everyone I ever knew behind. I started to worry when I realised I could have a new start, new people new life,  I could really be a better person if I started again! 

"Okay, well should I go and pack my things if you sign the papers? "

"Sure,  you wait here and I'll get the other boys" Jenny excitedly ordered Jai.

Off I went to pack away the minimal amount of belongings I owned. As I went downstairs I saw all of the boys, except Jai trying to come to hug me, I froze,  started to stiffen up and my breathing was extremely fast. I just fell, everything around me went black and I could feel the presence of people gathered around me shaking me and screaming my name.

*Jai's POV*

Oh shit, I forgot to tell the boys to keep their distance, Mia has just had a panic attack and collapsed. Beau, Luke, James, Skip and Jenny all crowded around whilst I called 999.

Soon after the Ambulance arrived and as seen as we were now the legal guardians of Mia I decided that I would go In the Ambulance with Mia and the rest of the boys would follow behind in a taxi.

~A few hours later~

I was waiting by the side of Mia's bed whilst the boys waited outside,  me and Mia were the closest as she'd known me for the longest. 

I was just looking out of the window when I heard the weak,  innocent voice of Mia mutter my name

"Jai"

"Mia, are you okay?" I said rushing to the chair beside her bed.

"mm I just feel a little weak, and tired.  ill be okay"

* Mia's POV *

Jai was sat down on the chair next to me, I knew Jai the best, I'd spoken to him and I just felt the most comfortable around him, he reached his hand out to hold mine and yet again I froze but I had millions of thoughts buzzing through my head.

Jai  wont hurt me, will he?  he's been here all this time, he is just here for me, hes my dad , If I let him hold my hand will he think he can push me around? 

I decided to be brave and open my hand, enabling him to hold it. I've never had this feeling of appreciation and the feeling of someone caring and loving me before,  it felt so surreal.

* Jai's POV *

As I reached for Mias hand she froze for a short 5 seconds and just as I was about to move away she opened her hand and let me hold her. I knew that we had reached another mile stone on the way to Mia trusting us. We would never hurt her she means the world to us already and we've only just met her!

After sitting there hand in hand for what felt like 10 minutes, I realised the blood stains on Mias sleeves.  I decided to slowly lift up the sleeve hoping Mia wouldn't wake up.

As I lifted her sleeve there were endless amounts of cuts all over her lower arm. My heart sunk as a lump formed in my throat, why would my beautiful daughter do this to herself was all I could think while I decided to keep this between me and her, no one else needed to know for the time being.
