It was a crisp morning, the sun rose just below the trees' bottom branches. Students rushed from each opening of the school. Some came from the front, others from the back near the basketball courts. A group of girls came from the left side, laughing and talking. The tallest girl had dark brown hair she wore ripped jeans and a hot pink shirt with PINK written in gold fabric. The middle girl wore a leather jacket with a bright red shirt peeking out from the jacket opening. She wore black ripped jeans and carried a black motorcycle helmet with the intials of H.P on the back. Her hair was cut short almost to her head, it was a dark shade of blonde, not dark enough to be light brown but not light enough to be bleach blonde. The shortest of the girls was a long wavy haired blonde girl who wore a flower t-shirt with a pair of jean short-shorts which were also ripped. A blonde tall and skimpy male student comes running up to the group of girls, he wore yellow skinny jeans and a green "Legend of Zelda" shirt. He hugs the middle girl. The middle girls hugs him back swinging the black helmet around him.
"Well hello to you too Alex." The tallest girl said
"Hey Sonah, Hey Sam." Alex says after finishing his hug. The two girls smile and wave, the middle girl nods to the girls and the two leave. "So Hunter how was your summer?" Alex asks.
"Would have been better if we actually went on a date." Hunter shoots back at him. She begins to walk around him and he stands next her and walks at her pace
"We did have dates, lots of them."
"No Alex we hung out all summer, we never went on any actual dates. Some of those times it wasn't just us. You know how lonely it feels when I'm the only girl among a group of guys, and it's not like I could have gone to your sister, because she doesn't even like me." Hunter looked at a large list of names and room numbers. She goes through the group looking for her name.
" Well I thought you liked the guys."
"Yeah, they're great for the time being of brunch and lunch, not for three hours sitting playing stupid video games." Hunter turns and begins to walk towards a group of classrooms. Alex walked next to her hanging on to the side of her thigh, like a blind dog with a blind man.
"Well if you weren't having a good time, why did you stay so long?"
"Because Alex." Hunter stops in front of an open doored room and looks into Alex's eyes. "I didn't want to be a rude girlfriend and made you think I was having a good time, there's a reason why I'm in drama Alex." A loud digital bell rings throughout the school yard, and students begin to rush to their classrooms. "I have to get to class now Alex. Bye." The two have a quick peck kiss and separate. Hunter walks into the open doored classroom. The classroom consists of three rows of paired desks all the desks facing away from the door. Hunter sat down in approximately the middle of the middle row of chairs. A medium sized girl walked in the classroom and sat down next to Hunter. Her hair was long and wavy from the bottom her hair was blonde and as you reached the top of her head her hair was brunette with a shine to it. She wore a blue flowered dressy shirt with a white under shirt showing through the blue shirt. She wore light colored jeans and a light weight grey jacket. Hunter glanced over at her as she set her bag down and sat down. She saw Hunter looking at her and asked.
"Is this seat taken already?"
"Nope, Just warning you Mrs. Carlson doesn't change her seats like ever so where you sit it's permanent. So whatever seat you choose, you ain't moving." Hunter chuckles and the girl giggles with her.
"Well I feel like I'm going to like this seat. I'm Torey."
"Hunter. Hunter Par. Nice to meet you Torey." Hunter shakes hands with Torey." So where are you from Miss Torey."
"Is it that obvious that I'm new in town?"
"Well Fernwood is a small town and I've never seen you around, so it's kind of obvious."
"I'm from Montana."
"Well welcome to Fernwood Torey, your going to like it here. As long as you don't make yourself into a bad influence you should be able to go unnoticed in this town."
"So as you can tell I'm kind of new, do you think I can hang out with you at lunch?"
"Yea that should be fine, I'm with my sisters today. Let me see your classes maybe we have more than just this class together." Torey opens her bag and grabs her light blue one inch binder and opens it to her schedule and hands it off to Hunter. Hunter skims the half sized piece of white paper that looked to be folded. "Well you just lucked out Torey your classes are around mine so you can hang with me."
"Wow really? Thanks Hunter." Torey takes the her schedule back from Hunter and places it back in her binder. The bell rings once again, and classes begins with the two girls sitting right next to each other, giggling.
