"And one!" Chris yelled, running around the court, beating his chest like a gorilla.

I playfully rolled my eyes, with a small smirk. "That's game, baby! You can't beat me, man, I'm too cold." He bragged,  dribbling the ball under his leg in front of me.

I pushed him back causing him to stumble. "That's just why yo ass lost. You kept grabbing on my shirt and shit, I had to take the mothafucka off."

I started laughing. "You cheated!" I exclaimed, as we walked back inside of his house, wiping the beads of sweat off of my forehead.

"Nah, you just suck." He said sitting the ball by the door.

"How, songbird, when I lost just by 6 points?" I questioned, folding my arms across my chest.

"I was letting you make those little points, don't get too kinky...On second thought, get kinky. I like it when you get kinky." He said causing me to kiss my teeth and laugh.

Over the week we've been spending a lot of time together, on a friendly level, of course. He has a girlfriend. Who hasn't really been around lately...I wonder why.

We went inside of the living room and sat down across from each other. I was literally the definition of drained. "You're still the same old nasty Chris."

He chuckled with a head nod. "Of course, that ain't ever gonna change."

I slowly nodded. "I see."

He took his phone out and began typing. I looked around observing the place. You could tell that Nia helped decorate. It actually looked really nice.

Chris cleared his throat and I looked his way. "I have a question, Lex." He said, looking at the floor.

"Ask away."

"Nia is having this baby shower at the end of this week over here, and I just wanted to know if you'd like to come. It would really mean a lot.." He said.

I quickly looked at him. "You expect me, Lexi Elizabeth Wright, to go to your babymomma's, Nia Whatever-the-hell-her-middle-name-is Guzman's baby shower? Hell. No."

He sighed. "Please, Lex? You don't even have to stay for long, just come thru then you could leave."

"No, she's so disrespectful towards me, Chris and you don't even say anything. I might not be yours any more but that doesn't just give her a free ticket to talk to me rudely."

"She's just jealous of you." He started. "And I don't say anything because she'll only just start going off on me and Ima get mad, and you know how I am when I'm mad."

I slightly rolled my eyes. "Jealous of what, though? We have the same damn thing."

"She's jealous because she knows that I'm still in love with you and I don't really feel that way about her." He said causing my heart to stop beating.

"Can you please just come?" He asked again with pleading eyes.

"I guess, Chris. But if she says one rude thing to me, just one, I'm gonna go o-"

"Chill, Lex. I'll talk to her."

I side eyed him. "You better, or I will." I said standing up. He frowned.

"Where you goin'?" He questioned.

"Do I have to tell you everything?" I asked, sarcastically.

"You used to." He said as I sighed lowly.

"I'm going to my hotel so that I can shower, then to Carter's so I can pick your baby out something. Then I'm going to get brunch with Elena around 5."

He nodded. "You don't wanna just shower here?"

I shook my head quickly. "Oh no, thanks."

He chuckled. "That's fine by me. Nia should be on her way soon, anyway."

"I don't mean to sound nosey, or anything, but she's been out and about a lot lately, do you know why?" I asked.

He shrugged. "She say she been hanging with her best friend. Probably just getting shit for the baby shower."

I slowly nodded. "Who's her bestfriend?"

"Shit, Iono."

I furrowed my eyebrows. "You don't know who your own girl friend's best friend is?"

"Nope. And I don't wanna."

I shook my head before speaking up. "Alright, Chris. I'll see you later."

He nodded, standing up. He pulled me in for a hug and I rested my head on his chest. We both needed to shower but it honestly didn't bother me at all.

"Thank you, Lex. For agreeing to come to the baby shower." He said as we pulled away.

"It's the least I can do," I replied, walking to the door. He trailed behind me and I left out if his house, going to my car.

Once inside, I started it up, put it in reverse and backed out of his driveway, heading to my hotel.
