Selene

Selene absentmindedly dragged Elio through the city, she wasn't entirely sure where she was going but she noticed the glow from the lights in the Pokemon center just up the street. So she turned in that direction and continued forward, allowing herself to get lost in thought.

Selene wished she could remember something about her past, anything. Maybe why she had a Nihilego, what an Ultra Beast was, how she'd gotten all these items, or why that Guzma guy wanted her. The more she searched the more of a headache she got. So she decided to think of something, anything else.

Maybe she could think of which Pokemon she'd help Elio catch. Although it was really his choice and she didn't want to ruin that first experience. For some reason to her the words 'first Pokemon' had a lot of meaning, once again she had no idea, she knew she had gotten a first Pokemon of her own, but only because of Nihilego.

If that was the case then where was this other Pokemon? Was Nihilego her first Pokemon? Selene shook her head, she was thinking about her amnesia again, everything always seemed to come back to it and she hated it.

"Selene are you alright?" Elio asked, snapping her back to reality. She had been standing in front of the Pokemon Center door without moving.

"Uh-yeah I'm fine." Selene lied, but before Elio could ask any follow-up questions she went into the Pokemon Center. The place was trashed, with both the shop and some orange shop being completely ransacked. There was mud all over the floors and things were tipped over and shattered, however the red-haired lady at the counter was smiling pleasantly.

"Hello, welcome to the Pokemon Center. I am Nurse Joy, how can I help you?" She asked, Selene stepped forward and handed the women her Pokeb-no Pokeball didn't sound right, but she didn't remember the name of the ball. The nurse's eyes widened as Selene handed it to her.

"I've never seen anything like it! Is this from another region?" She asked, Selene shook her head.

"No. Maybe. I'm not really sure." Selene said, the nurse gave her a puzzled look.

"Selene has amnesia. She just appeared out of nowhere in front of the Malasada shop." Elio piped up, Selene looked back and mouthed 'thank you.'

"Oh I'm so sorry to hear that sweetie! You must be so confused, I wish I could help. But I've never heard of people appearing in random places without memory..." The nurse paused, she seemed to be contemplating something. "Wait I did hear that the Aether Foundation was doing research on portals before Team Skull attacked. Yes they were working with Professor Burnet!" Nurse Joy remembered.

"That's perfect! So what happened to all the research?" Selene asked, hope in her voice. Nurse Joy's smile vanished.

"It was mostly likely destroyed, Team Skull burnt down the Aether Foundation for being a threat, the president of the foundation Lusamine and her two children got away, although I doubt the research was a top priority."

"Did you say Lusamine?" Selene asked, feeling put-off by that name.

"Yes. She was always such a pleasant person and her two children Lily and Gladion were always so cheerful when I saw the reports on the news."

"So her children stayed with her at the Aether Foundation and never ran away?" Selene asked for clarification. The question confused her, Elio, and Nurse Joy.

"Why of course they never ran away!'

"Anyways," Elio said, trying to steer the conversation back to the portals. "What happened to Professor Burnet's lab?"

"Well I'm not sure. She was married to Professor Kukui so I assume she ran away with her research and went into hiding with him." Nurse Joy replied.
