Totem Lurantis

Elio.

"Well looks like it's up to us." Elio said. Selene nodded and chucked her Beast Ball into the air, the ball burst open and Nihilego jumped from it. Elio did the same, calling out his Popplio.

The totem roared fiercely and an orange aura enveloped it, swirling around the Pokémon.

"Nihilego use sludge bomb!" A purple ball appeared in Nihilego's hand, the Pokémon threw the ball forward. Lurantis slashed it in half, causing the poison to explode all over it. It shook off the poison droplets and dashed forward.

Both of its claws extended and glowed white. The Lurantis ran forward faster than Kevlar's Lurantis, she brought her claws down on Nihilego. The poison type retreated, squeaking in pain.

"Popplio use disarming voice!" Elio shouted, Elio and Selene barely had time to brace themselves before an ear piercing shriek rang through the forest. Nihilego squealed from the noise and the Lurantis hacked its claws against the ground until the noise subsided.

Lurantis roared again, its cry sounded through the forest. A floating grey Pokémon that was made up of one sphere and then two larger ones sped from the trees.

"Oh man a Castform! Don't let it use its attack!" Elio shouted, his blood racing at the sight of the Pokémon. He was starting to remember why this trial was coined as one of the hardest.

"Nihilego lock it in with psychic!" Selene's friend began to glow blue along with the castform. Then razor sharp leaves stormed into Nihilego, breaking the psychic connection. The leaves also caught Popplio by surprise and attack her as well.

"Popplio come on! Get up, please!" Elio pleaded, Popplio was on the ground and looked exhausted.

"Castform!" Castform screamed, a small red fireball appeared above its head and flew into the air, the red fireball shone brightly like a miniature sun.

Castform glowed for a moment and when the glow subsided Castform had changed. It's head looked more like a sun and it radiated heat.

"Oh no." Elio muttered.

"What's so bad about this?" Selene asked.

"That." Elio pointed to Lurantis. Lurantis seemed to snicker as a giant beacon of green light shot into the air from it. The all-too-familiar beacon fell forward and crashed into Popplio, flinging it back into Elio's arms, unconscious. Elio silently cursed to himself as he fished out Popplio's Pokeball.

"Why didn't it have to charge the attack like before?" Selene asked.

"Sunny day allows Lurantis to use solar blade without charging." Elio explained as he recalled Popplio. "I wish we had a fire type but-" Elio wheeled around to face the sleeping form of Kiawe, clutching a Pokeball in his hand.

"Selene, aim for the Castform so it can't use sunny day once this one wears off." Elio told her.

"Ok. Just give me the Z-Ring. I have a plan." Selene said, Elio had almost forgotten he had the ring on him. He took it off and handed it to Selene. She clasped it onto her wrist and Elio ran to Kiawe.

"Nihilego catch! Now continental crush!" Selene shouted, Elio pried the Pokeball from Kiawe's hand and turned in time to see a giant rock crush Castform and shake the earth. The rock exploded into pieces, revealing Nihilego to be in the center of where the rock was and Castform to be unconscious.

"Please Arceus let this work." Elio prayed, he tossed the Pokeball Into the air and a red and grey bird Pokémon burst free. The Pokémon flew around for a moment before noticing Kiawe and flying down to his feet.
