Chapter One

Nervous, scared, excited. These were the feelings soaring through my body as I waited for my number to be called up, for my audition.

To say that I was nervous was an absolute understatement. What I was about to do would either make or brake my career choice. Singing is all I've ever wanted to do, there's nothing else that gives me the same bubbly feeling as to when I sing.

Just being up on a stage, letting all my emotions out through my voice. Everything that I ever feel, see, love, I express with the only way that I know how. Singing.

I've been watching the auditions from the little T.V in the very large room. Some people come out with smiling faces, jumping around from happiness that they got through but most did not. Most that auditioned did not get through. They would come out with tear stained cheeks or frowning faces. Their dreams had been crushed.

I had been in the queue for almost eight hours in the freezing cold March chill, tapping my foot nervously or strumming my guitar to keep my self amused with my family and friends.

I was currently sitting on a red chair that matched the clean red and black carpet. I kept peeling and re-sticking my X-Factor number from nerves. 183678 was my number.

"Number 183677, Ricky Challis, please. You're up." A lady, mid twenties with a tight pony tail on the top of her head, said. I wondered how many times she had said this.

That's the guy in front of me. I'm next. I panicked.

I frantically turned to my mum. "I can't do this, I'm too scared," I said, shaking nervously.

"Yes you can, you have an amazing voice and you know it. Don't doubt yourself," she told me sternly, reassuring everything was perfectly fine and that I will get through.

I had so many members of my family and friends here, they're all so supportive. I brought my two closest friends, Amanda and Lily. I also brought my boyfriend, Zach. We've been together for about three years and still going strong. Of course I had my mum, dad, sister and brother with me, too.

We were now at the front of the waiting room, waiting for my name to be called up. I kept taking nervous sips of my water to distract myself or I would just keep jumping on my spot.

"Number 183678, Daisy Parker. You're up." I felt sick. This is me.

My family cheered and started walking backstage with me, with smiles on their faces. When we got there, everyone gave me hugs and wished me luck.

Lastly, Zach came up to me encircling his arms around my waist. "You can do this, baby." He gave me a passionate kiss that brought a smile to my face.

"Thank you. I love you," I said pulling out of the kiss. He reciprocated the words, giving me one last kiss.

"You can go in there now, the judges are waiting." A different man, about fifty gave me a black microphone and pointed to the room I had to enter.

Behind those doors, I knew that the judges waiting for me would be Sharon Osbourne, Nicole Scherzinger, Simon Cowell and Niall Horan. (A/N: this is the 2014 UK x factor, I don't know who this years judges are so I used previous judges plus Niall and I know Simon is coming back this year so I put him in)

I breathed in through my nose and out my mouth slowly before walking through the light brown doors and into the room, standing on the 'X' in the middle of the room and finally looking up to all the judges looking at me, smiling.
