I was sitting on the swing set, kicking my legs back and forth gently, creating a steady rhythm as I look out at my garden in front of me.

It was a beautiful day. The sun shining, birds singing happily and the trees swishing side to side as the light breeze flowed through them.

“Hey, Daisy,” I heard my eleven year old sister giggle from behind me. I looked behind me and saw her with a pink skipping rope, with purple tassels on the end. She loves skipping, you’ll find her skipping everywhere and anywhere. It doesn’t matter what time of the day, she’ll always be skipping happily.

“Hello squirt, what ya doing?” I asked, getting up off my yellow swing set and making my way over to her.

“Skip with me,” she handed another pair of skipping rope to me, similar to hers. I couldn’t resist those puppy eyes she was giving me. Her and I were always close, I’d take her anywhere with me and she’d love it.

I happily agreed with her and started skipping, failing miserably. I was cursed with terrible skipping skills.

“You’re too good at it, I give up.” I threw my arms in the air, laughing. I put the rope down and took a seat on the wooden rocking chair near the swings. “How was school?” I asked her.

“Good,” she chimed. I looked away for a moment, getting my phone out of my pocket and checking my messages and phone calls when I heard her scream.

“DAISY!” Amelia screamed. I instantly looked up frantic.

Everything had suddenly turned dark, it was no longer light and breezy, it was cold, foggy, and dark.

“Amelia! Where are you?” I frantically asked, panicking as I could no longer see her body. “AMELIA!”

I didn’t know what to do, everything had suddenly changed, I was confused.

“Daisy, help me!” her voice was now distant. I started running through the fog, trying to find my sister. I couldn’t see a thing, everything was just so dark and silent. All you could hear were my quickened breaths and legs running through my garden.

It was then that I saw a flash of pink. Amelia’s shorts. I quickly started making my way over to her, yet I felt as though I was not moving. My legs were definitely moving but I wasn’t making any progress as I ran. It was like an ongoing thing, never getting anywhere.

“Amelia, I'm here. Come to me!” I shouted to her, tears streaming down my face as I tried to get to her. I could still see the pink but her face was hidden. The only bit of hope that I had was for her to come to me.

“I can’t, someone’s got me! Please Daisy, don’t let me die,” her voice was becoming quieter and quieter as it drifted off into the air. The pink of her shorts were now hidden and I could no longer see anything. I didn’t know what to do, my legs were still moving but I wasn’t anywhere near her. What the hell is happening to me?

“I won’t let anything happen to you!” I shouted to her, trying to give us both hope.

“It hurts, Daisy! I’m dying!” she cried.

I finally felt my legs start to move and I made a run for it, in whatever direction that she was heading in the last time I saw her. That’s when I tripped and fell over something hard, yet soft.

I looked back and my world fell apart. There she was, my baby sister, lying on the ground, dead. She wasn’t moving, her body completely still and already freezing cold.
