the next morning, youngjae wakes up with a giddy feeling and excitement bubbling up inside his entire body. he rubs his eyes and looks up to see jaebum soundly asleep. a smile creeps up onto his face as he lets his lips graze the older's jaw, making the latter stir a bit in his sleep and tighten his hold on youngjae's waist.
"hyung... wake up," he says softly, still pressing light kisses on his skin.
jaebum hums as he frowns then slowly opens his eyes, eyelashes fluttering slightly. the older looks down at youngjae and smiles sleepily at him and youngjae feels his heart deliciously clench at the sight. jaebum looks so cute, hair sticking out in every direction and eyes puffy from sleep.
"good morning sunshine," he rasps out with a tiny but still noticeable smile.
"morning," youngjae says back. "did you sleep well?"
"mhm," jaebum hums and turns his head to look at the digital clock on youngjae's bedside table. "it's already ten. what time did your parents want us there?"
"they don't really care but if we can be there as soon as possible, it'll be good. they can't wait to meet you," the younger male chuckles.
jaebum lets out a little laugh before running his fingers through youngjae's hair.
"should we shower then?" he asks with a slight yawn.
"to-together?" youngjae stutters, eyes going wide and the older laughs at his reaction.
"would you feel comfortable showering with me baby?"
"i mean, yes? i guess so," youngjae replies, voice slightly unsure and wavering.
the older chuckles and pecks him on the forehead before getting out of bed and heading towards the bathroom.
"join me if you want!" he exclaims as he enters the bathroom.
youngjae feels his cheeks burning up as he pictures himself showering with jaebum, naked and water flowing down their bodies. the room suddenly feels too hot and he hides in his face in his hands, too shy and flustered to even move. eventually, jaebum comes back from his shower with a knowing smile, only wearing his towel around his waist. way too much for youngjae who almost runs out of the room to get to his bathroom. jaebum laughs loudly and murmurs a quiet "cute" before starting to get dressed.

later, when the two of them have clothes on and youngjae feels his body temperature going to normal, they settle down in the kitchen to make breakfast together. the atmosphere is light and playful as youngjae shares his excitement to see his family again and introduce jaebum to them. the latter seems a bit nervous at the idea and the younger male insists that they're going to love him.
"i hope so," jaebum mumbles.
the younger takes one of his hands in his and nuzzles against it before gently kissing his knuckles to reassure him. nervous jaebum is a unusual thing to witness but it's cute. very cute.
"they're going to love you, hyung. don't you dare think otherwise, okay?" youngjae firmly says, squeezing his fingers.
jaebum looks at him with a small smile and squeezes back before pulling him into a kiss that leaves him breathless.

they leave shortly after their breakfast, not wasting any more time. youngjae puts his and jaebum's suitcases into the trunk before joining his boyfriend. he sits in the passenger seat and enters his parents' house address in the gps. they both buckle up and in a matter of seconds, jaebum drives off.
the journey to mokpo is quite the long ride so they make a stop to the gas station to get snacks and gas of course before driving off again.
"can we listen to the radio, hyung?" youngjae asks as he makes himself comfortable on his seat.
"sure baby, go ahead."
the younger excitedly does and turns on the radio, choosing his favorite radio station. it plays overheard songs but youngjae doesn't mind at all as he sings the lyrics he knows. jaebum has a small smile displayed on his face at his boyfriend's behavior, wondering if he can get any cuter.
"you should audition somewhere, i swear," jaebum says, glancing at the younger.
"oooh no no! i'm totally fine with singing in the shower!" youngjae furiously shakes his head in disagreement.
"why not? anyone would kill to hear you sing. i would," the older grips his hand and laces their fingers together.
youngjae pouts, bottom lip jutting out cutely and jaebum chuckles lightly, bringing their joined hands to his mouth to press a kiss against youngjae's hand. the latter can't stop the blush spreading on his cheeks at the action. he's a sucker for fluffy jaebum so it's impossible for him not to melt.
"just keep your eyes on the road," he mumbles.
"yes sir," jaebum replies in a mocking tone.
the rest of the ride goes by and after a few hours, the car is finally parked in front of youngjae's parents' house. youngjae excitedly gets out of the car and sprints to the front door. jaebum, on the other hand... well he thinks. the nervousness kicks in again so he stays in the car for a while, trying to calm his heart. finally, he takes a deep, deep breath and gets out as well.
here goes nothing.
