the next weeks pass by in a flash. jinah keeps her promise and stops bothering them. and so does minhyun. it turned out that the two of them indeed knew each other (how? nobody wants to know). youngjae feels much lighter than ever, going back to the carefree boy he is, to his friends and boyfriend's delight.

right now is when youngjae feels the happiest. with jaebum. it's silly how so in love he is with the older male but he can't help it. jaebum is everything he could ask for and every day, he wonders how he got so lucky to have found him.

"youngjae? baby? are you even listening?" jaebum's voice breaks his happy train of thoughts.

"yeah, sorry hyung. what were you saying?" he asks with a sheepish smile.

"what were you thinking about that got you so distracted?" the older asks him, nuzzling his cheek with the tip of nose.

you, he wants to say but that's too embarrassing to admit so he just comes up with something.

"nothing. just that we're only a few months away from the end of the year," he replies, shrugging one shoulder.

which isn't really a lie so it's good enough.

"time flew fast yeah. a few months and i'll be graduating," jaebum says in wonder.

when he hears that, youngjae stills. right. jaebum is graduating while he'll stay in college for 2 years. that scares him. his boyfriend will enter the adult world and youngjae is going to be left behind.

"baby, i know what you're thinking and it's not going to happen, okay? i'm not leaving you."

youngjae pouts as he looks up at jaebum who just smiles fondly and presses a kiss to his forehead. he then cups the younger's face, looking right into his eyes.

"i love you and me graduating isn't going to change anything, you hear me?" the older says firmly.

the look in his eyes is firm and loving and youngjae feels a wave of too many things, good things but it's overwhelming. youngjae nods wordlessly, making jaebum smile again before pressing his lips against youngjae's. his eyes flutter close as he melts into the kiss. their lips move slowly against each other, both boys not really rushing anything and just seeking the warmth that spreads through them. jaebum is the one to pull back and strokes the younger's cheeks.

"i'm not leaving you anytime soon, i promise."

youngjae smiles faintly, feeling slightly reassured with the way jaebum talks. firm and determined. and just like that, his worries disappear.

the next day, after his classes, youngjae stumbles accross yugyeom in the hallway.

"gyeomie! it's been a while since i saw you!" youngjae exclaims excitedly as he jogs to his taller friend.

"oh, hey hyung," is the less enthusiastic response he gets from him.

yugyeom doesn't look depressed but he doesn't look happy either. he looks... gloomy. youngjae doesn't like that aura. he rests a hand on yugyeom's shoulder with a worried expression.

"what's wrong? did something happen?" he asks softly.

"it's... bam, he-"

"did he hurt you? cheat on you?" youngjae cuts him off with wide eyes.

"no! no! he didn't. he just went to thailand for his cousin's wedding and i just miss him a lot. he's supposed to come back today but he didn't tell me what time he lands," yugyeom explains, chewing on his lip with a sulking expression.

that makes youngjae chuckle a bit. he remembers when he used to be like that - he still is but he won't admit it - at the beginning of his relationship with jaebum.

"you really like him, don't you? that's cute," youngjae says with a fond smile.

the taller male just glares at him but the slight blush on his face isn't convincing enough.

"yugyeom!"

yugyeom turns his head so fast he almost breaks his neck at the sound. kunpimook is standing there with a wide smile.

"bam!"

yugyeom starts running to his boyfriend, pulling him in a bone crushing hug and rambling about how much he missed him. youngjae watches with an almost fatherly look.

those kids are very cute, he thinks.
