"Now take out the trash." My aunt orders.
"Yes ma'am." I say.
MacKenzie gasps, "Mom, I completely forgot that I had to bring something from home today for a presentation in my home ec class."
I toss the garbage out and then await for further orders.
"So you want me to go to your school?"
"No. I want him to go with me." MacKenzie points at me.
"Who?" She turns around.
"Him."
"Why do you want to take him?" She gets up.
"Because, I woke up early this morning and couldn't get back to sleep so I got up and decided to wait downstairs. I saw him setting up breakfast and cleaning up. I saw him set the table and do-" her mother slaps her, causing her to stop mid sentence.
"Fine take him. But then you have to do all the chores he was supposed to do while you were at school, after school."
"Okay. But he can help me on my homework and the chores."
"Fine." They shake hands. "Boy," I quickly walk over, "You are going to go to school today. When you get home you do all your chores. Every one." I nod.
"Come." MacKenzie says. I follow her up to her room where she has me stand outside so she could get dressed.
She comes out, "Ready to go?"
I look at her outfit. She had a yellow sun dress on with a zip-up jacket covering her shoulders. She wore sandal wedges on her feet. "Yes." I say as she smiles and grabs her backpack.
