⚠️TRIGGER WARNING⚠️

I was grounded for three days. Punishment by Dada for my previous 'kagagahan'. I'm bored here in the mansion. Wala naman akong ibang nakakausap dito kundi si Mi at si Nanay Selia. In three days, I just lock myself in the room and read the novel that I bought in Manila.

Ngayon ay kausap ko si Mi dito sa veranda. It's a good thing she didn't go with Dada to the other town to deliver help.

"Wala ka bang nagugustuhan sa kanila, anak?" Mi asked, nang mapunta ang conversation namin sa mga manliligaw ko.

"I don't know po kung like ko ba talaga because it doesn't last long. Infatuation, maybe." I answered politely while looking around the mansion. Makikita ang malawak na paligid at mga guards na nag babantay sa buong mansion. Hindi na rin bago sa akin ang makakita ng mga baril na dala nila. Bata pa lamang ako ay sanay na ako sa ganitong paligid.

"It doesn't take long because you're just playing. You're turning twenty one, Becky. You know, you can settle down." Pangungulit na naman niya.

Mi knows that I'm a heart-breaker. I remember back when I was in college. They called me 'Ice Queen'. I didn't take any of my suitors seriously or should I say none of them caught my attention. Kung meron man, like what I've said to Mi, it doesn't last long. As much as possible, I put a baricade in my heart to everyone who has tried and will try to enter it. Why? Maybe because I'm not that fascinated in love.

"I'm happy even without a man in my life, Mi." Sagot ko dahil ang totoo ay wala naman talagang lalaki sa buhay ko. Not even my father can appreciate me.

"Mas masaya pa rin kung magkakaroon ka ng someone in your life, anak." I sighed at Mi's answer then I sat next to her.

"Why, Mi? Bakit gusto niyo na magpakasal na ako? Do you not want to be with me anymore?" I pretended to sulk so that she would stop talking about marriage. That's not in my vocabulary yet.

"Hindi sa ganoon, anak. I just want someone to take care of you and protect you when your Dada and I are gone." Heto na naman! Nag da-drama na naman siya.

"Mi! Please don't say that!" I hugged her and she respond with a tighter hug.

"If you don't want me to worry, find a loving husband." Oh my! Hindi talaga siya tumitigil.

"Wala na pong matino sa ngayon at kung meron man, pumasok na siguro po sa seminaryo." Nakasimangot akong bumitaw sa pagkakayakap kay Mi.

"Wala ka talagang makikilala na matino kung puro pag gimick lang ang alam mo."

"Mi, I'm not desperate. Besides, I didn't come here to find a man." I frowned even more.

"Pwes ako, desperada nang magkaroon ka ng asawa para mabigyan mo na rin kami ng apo." I quickly turned to Mi because of what she said.

"What? Kanina asawa lang po? Bakit po may kasama ng apo ngayon?" I reacted which made Mi laugh out loud.

"Here, anak. Wear it." Mi handed me a navy blue dress. It's an off-shoulder with laces on the hem.
