I wake, noticing the dark sky.
I catch him glancing my way.
I stand up, not acknowledging him.
My thoughts were elsewhere.

I lean against the tree, covering my face so he couldn't see the tears seeping down my face.
He comes over anyway.
He takes a seat near me, pulling me into an embrace.
I sob softly into his jacket.
He hooks my chin up, making me lock eye contact with him.
I sniffle, but my thoughts creep back.
His thumb caresses my cheek.
My eyes melt into his.
Our hearts become in sync.
His uses his other hand to brush away a loose strand of hair.
He smiles.
Its contagious
That's one of few times he smiled.
He leans in.
Our lips meet, sending sparks through the air.
