"I want to know your names." Kate said in a stern voice, she was still majorly uncomfortable but felt a little safer now.
The boy with the long hair spoke again.
"My name is Clive Johnston, im from the governmental agency of persona protection." He reached info his pocket and pulled out a navey blue fold up. He flashed it open to briefly reveal a shiney badge. "My friends here are from the same, well, besides this one." He gestured at the blue eyed blond boy who'd seemed oddly average before.
The first girl, tall and dark skinned spoke.
"My name is Jazlen Parker." Her voice was smooth and soft as well. The other girl with the light skin and red hair spoke next. Her voice was metal like, strong and stern.
"I'm Chris Watson, short for Christina, nice to meet you."
The second boy with the curly brown hair and tanned skin spoke last. His voice was earthy and calm, like a running river.
"I'm Abe Garrison."Kate turned to the last boy, the only one who hadn't introduced himself. He looked her back, looking her hard in the eye he remained silent. She looked to Clive with question. He shook his head, silently saying not to worry about it, he'd explain later on.
Jazlen spoke.
"We're here to recruit you to the agency." She said it gently and with a soft smile but with an edge that said it was important that she pay close attention.
"What is this... Agency?" She said cautiously.
Jazlen spoke once again.
"We protect people against the forces that mortals are unable to control. You're like us, immortal and powerful."
Kate was unable to find the words to reply with. She furrowed her eyebrows in thought. If they could prove it she'd believe them, but if they couldn't she was calling the police for sure.
"How do I know you're all telling the truth?" She asked with a small shake in her voice. They were all so new and powerful she didn't want to upset them.Jazlen tooked to Abe, he was better at these things. He had an ability she didn't.
"I can prove it to you." He said.
Kate looked to him now. He walked to the front of the group and then up to her. He was a little taller then she was but not intimidatingly so.
"Take my hands." He asked her solfly. This was how he would read her. The group knew who she was and they knew she was immortal but they were unsure of what it was that she was best at.
She did as he asked and he closed his eyes, focusing. Kate tried to relax but she was a little on edge and very, very confused by it all.Soon he opened his big, bronze eyes and cast a bright radiant grin at her. She gave a small smile back to be polite and he carefully released her hands.
"You're a weather-bird!" He exclaimed and brought her in for a tight hug. The others exclamined congratulations and clapped. She hugged him back tightly and let go after a small while.
"What does that mean? Its a good thing right?" She asked smiling because to her second question she already knew the answer.
Abe spoke again.
"It means you have the power to control the weather...not only the natural kind but the mind intelf in small amounts, its certain you'll find both quite simmalar! And yes, dear, its a very good thing. I would know!" He beamed at her a second time. He was very touchy and took both of her hands again halfway though his extended answer.
"How do I use my powers?" She asked excitedly.
"Its simple, just focus in and imagine the storm changing however you want it to" he continued.
Kate smiled again, this was all so exciting. The best part was, she'd get to see the world, most likely all the cities she so wished to moments before.
The group stayed in the kitchen. Talking happily about what each of them did and was best at.
Abe was of course a weather-bird and had senses for the weather and human mind.
Clive was skilled with things paranormal and supernatural, apparently ghosts were more then just a thing of fantasy.
Chris was a real warrior, she could and most deffinatly would fight anything that threatened the innocent.
Jazlen was a philosophist of everything. Not only was she a genius bus she was one that knew everything there was to know, besides personal secrets. Being the curious person she was is could lead to her being quite nosey at times, but it was just one of her lovable quirks.
Kate spent more time talking to Jazlen then the others, she felt more familiar. If Kate really raked her mind she'd identfy how similar Jazlen's grace and wisdom were to her mother's own qualities.
Talking longer Kate was informed that when her father returned they would sort out a sceduel for her, she'd be quitting school for the time being. She was informed that apparently her father wouldn't be surprised by any of this, he'd known all along that she was what she was and this was coming up this month. Besides, she'd be staying at home just the same...most of the time. Missions would cone up on a monthly basis that would call for her to leave until she and her team resolved the issue at hand, whatever that was.
Kate showed them too the livingroom where they took to the couches and chairs and talked about the types of tasks they would be. Most of the time they had something to do with more paranormal and supernatural cases, thus Clive becoming a sort of unofficial leader amongst them.
The last boy who had the blue eyes and blonde hair was apparently the younger brother of Clive himself. He'd committed a very serious crime that was unfortunately classified until she got her badge and lisense and became an official officer.
