Abandoned Bowling Alleys

chapter eight

This chapter is gonna be longer...like twice as long

The meeting was up in the twentieth floor. She and Abe were the first there, Clive came in third. Clive walked in the room and Kate was already done. He gave them another one of those smirks, like the one he'd given in the elevator. This time he sat by Kate.

"So who's your favorite?" He laughed.
"I don't know I haven't really met everyone yet..." She traild off, cheeks going redder already.
"Well, who have you really met?" He asked. He as only playing but it was annoying just the same.
"I've met Abe." She said simply.
"What do you think of him?" He teased.
"He's nice." She said trying to sound simple with it.
"Just nice?" He interrogated further.
"Well no, he's more then nice, he's a good teacher and friend." She said blushing full on.
"Awe Abe," he said turning to Abe ", looks like you're friendzoned." He laughed and Abe glared.
"Stop, Clive" he said.
"Fine, so what about this weather we're having." That was his favorite joke when he talked to Abe. He just ignored him.

The door opened and Chris walked in with Jazlen. Jazlen sat by Clive and Chris sat beside Jazlen That was everyone now. There were three more seats though, who were they waiting on?

"Who else is coming?" She asked Abe quietly.
"I'm not sure, some government people probably." He whispered back, unsure of why she was whispering.
"You need to get to know the other agents too..." He lead off in concern.
"Yeah, its fine, its just my first day, no big deal right?" Kate brushed the question off. Abe was still concerned, that was why Clive was doing what he was. He wanted to get her more comfortable, he always did stuff like that. She probably didn't like him so far but she'd get to know him better and see that he was okay.

The door opened again and three people stepped into the room. The first was the same tiny dark skinned woman from group training. She now wore a military camo uniform like the other two did. The other two men were both white and old, she bet they were not only racist but sexist too.

They took their seats in two of the empty chairs, the boss still standing, her posture perfect, her expression blank. She made an announcment to the group in a booming voice.
"This meeting is completely confidential, we're here to talk about our newest agent, agent Kate Smiths." She too sat. One of the men stood up.
"If you'd introcude yourself to the group Miss we can go ahead and discuss your files." He sat a d Kate stood this time, everyone looked to her. She wasnt prepared for this, she didn't know these people yet.
"I'm Kate... I'm from Rhode Island... I can mess with the weather and read people emotions..." She sat. 
"Good job." Abe said in her ear solftly. She did better then he did his first day...she was doing  everything better then he had, then again they almost sent him back home too... He was awkward for the first week. It must've just been him.

The last man stood with a red folder of papers, including her signed packet. He pulled out a single sheet and began to read, in a deep scratchy voice.
"Full name: Kathryn Jane Smiths
Height: 5'1
Weight: 132 lbs
Eye color: green
Skin shade: C1
Category: Weather bird. " he stopped there and shuffled though some papers.
"Can you confirm all of the information given?" He asked not looking up.
"Yes." She said.

He pulled out another paper.
"Do you confirm total secrecy of all things you learn here?"
"Yes."
"Do you agree to the terms and conditions given to you at an earlier time?"
"Yes."

That's how the meeting went, all two hours of it. The last thirty minutes consisternd of Kate listing her interests and hobbies and giving a short summery of herself.
"I like to read things, I really want to see the world. I guess I'm pretty artistic, I like to paint things and sometimes I draw. In a runner, I ran track and cross country at my school. Describe myself? Ummm.... Im a pretty okay person I guess. I like jokes, I like to make jokes. I'm happy with myself most of the time but sometimes I can be self conscious. I'm not really that confident but if I'm with a friend I'm outgoing. I not good at discribing myself.... That's all I guess..." She trailed off and took her seat again.
