I Do (Malec)

Chapter 1

Why hello friends.

I'm gonna right a Malec fanfic.

I've noticed that not many people write about a proposal. so that's what I'm gonna do.

Alec POV

I race down the busy sidewalk, wanting desperately to get back home. Knowing that Magnus and our wonderful apartment are waiting for me is the best feeling in the world.

We have a date tonight, and even though we have been going out for four years, every time we do something together it is a whole new experience.

I smile as I unlock the door.

I am greeted by the sight of my lovely boyfriend standing by the door. He looks completely plain, no makeup, no weird hair styles, hardly any glitter. Just the way I like it.

"Are you just gonna stand there and admire my sexiness, or are you going to come and greet me?" Magnus implores with a smirk.

I grin widely and take two quick strides across the room. Our bodies immediately collide, and our lips touch. We kiss desperately, as though we think this would be our last time.

After a few moments we break apart, and I take another look at him. "I'm thinking we're not going anywhere tonight," I guess, "because you wouldn't be caught dead looking like that in public."

The warlock grins. "Only for you, my darling."

I pull him into another quick embrace, then look at our settings. The apartment has taken on a totally fancy look, with candles, soft music, and a small two-person table. Dinner here, I think curiously. He never does that. This must be a special occasion.

Magnus POV

I watch as my beautiful Shadowhunter takes in his surroundings. I will never get tired of those eyes, I muse. Discreetly, I feel the small, velvety box in my back pocket. Tonight is the night.

I lead Alec to the table, where we sit down to a delicious Italian dinner. Over the course of the meal, I feel myself getting more nervous.

Alec notices it too, because he gives me a small look of concern. "Are you okay?" he asks.

"Fine. Just fine," I answer with a tight smile.

Alec POV

"A-Alec darling?" I hear Magnus stutter. Magnus Bane, stuttering? This should be good.

"Yes dear?" I reply cautiously.

"W-well, I have a question." Magnus then gets up from his chair and gets on one knee in front of me.

By the Angel, he's going to purpose!

"Alexander Gideon Lightwood, I am hopelessly and desperately in love with you. I love everything about you, all your faults and perfections. So, what I'm trying to get at here is-" He pulls out a small, blue, velvet box from his back pocket, and opens it to reveal a beautiful ring.

"Alec, will you marry me?"
