An Unexpected Love

Ice Cream Date

Hey. I'm back. Told you I would and here I am. Like I said in the last chapter, I'm making the chapter 1000 words long. Sorry for the long break, I've just had a lot of stuff to do like homework, drawing, free reading (for once), and planning for my birthday next week, as well as... relationship stuff EpicTyler525. And just because I can LapisLover. #beautyandthebeasthype #almost15. Alright enough of my chit chatting, onto the chapter!!!

Edward's POV

After my meeting with Mr. Mustache, I go back to my cubicle to work on my report. I eventually get bored with it, and take out my phone and start scrolling through punterest. (A/N that was intentional. Continue) All of a sudden, I get a text from Al and I start to wonder what it is. I then check to see what he said:

Al: what do you want to eat tonight brother?

I think about what I might actually want to eat, when my thoughts are suddenly interrupted by my new assistant. 

"Hello Mr. Elric." He says with a smile that's hinted with some awkwardness, "I was wondering if you wanted to get some ice cream with me after our shift?"

Is...

Is he asking me out... FOR AN ICE CREAM DATE???

"Uh... sure!" I say while thinking into what he said. "I just have to finish writing some notes and I'll be done." I reply with a smile.

"Okay!" He replies cheerfully. "Just let me know when you're ready to go."

I nod at him, then I get back to my to my report. I see some blogs that seem interesting, so I take a look. There's a musical called Guys And Dolls that's been becoming very popular at a regional school. (A/N eveboy) I decide to put that into my report because, we all need some nowadays because lemme tell ya the news these days has all bad stuff. There's never any good stuff, and it's all about how the president is creating drama, airplane explosions, pretty much everything that makes people not want to even step outside, and it makes kids too scared to want to do any of those things because they're afraid of the world...

Before I know it, my shift has ended, so I find Natsu and I let him know that I'm ready to go out.

"We can go in my car if you want," he offers. "And it's just parked up front, so we don't have to walk far to get to it."

"Okay," I say back to him. It takes me a few minutes before I realize what's happening: I'm going out for ice cream, with my CRUSH, and I'm going to be in his car. While I think about this, I don't notice we're at his car until he says, "my car's over here dude." Crap, my anxiety's already kicking in and we haven't even gone out yet.

"O-oh. S-sorry... I must've spaced out..." I reply timidly. Although, I never really stutter... Is it because I'm nervous? Must be...

"It's okay," he tells me with a smile. "Just hop in." I get into his car, put on the seatbelt (cuz safety first), and try not to get too nervous. I try thinking of other things, when I notice that he turned on some music. This isn't just any music mind you, it's my favorite song EVER. (A/N play video now) I start singing along with the song, and do a couple of the dance moves.

"All the underdogs in the world! A day may come where we lose! But it is not today!" Then I hear Eren next to me singing with me, "CAUSE TODAY WE FIGHT!!" I look over at him in astonishment, I thought I was the only one who listened to this kind of music. At the same time I look over at him, he looks at me but only for a few seconds and goes back to driving the car.

When I look away, I can feel my cheeks and ears become warm. I look outside the window, and see that we're already at the ice cream place. I unbuckle my seatbelt, and get out of the car. I look over at Natsu when he gets out, and I see that he has a light blush dusting his cheeks.

We walk up to the ice cream stand, and a woman who looks to be in her mid-twenties greeted us. "Hello guys," she says with a welcoming smile, "what can I get you?" I look up at the ice cream menu, and I decide that I want cookies and cream with gummy bears.

"What do you want to get Natsu?" I ask. "I was thinking maybe a scoop each of strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla. Ya know, neopolitan ice cream." He smiles at me, and I can't help but blush. "Cool," I respond to him. "I was thinking cookies and cream with gummy bears." He tries to hide his giggles at my response, but doesn't. "What're you laughing at?" I say with a smile. I completely forget about the woman until she awkwardly coughs and brings our attention to her. "Sorry for eavesdropping, but should I take your conversation as your order; cookies and cream with gummy bears and neopolitan?"

She's good!! I look over at Natsu and we both nod. "Would you like that in a bowl or on a cone?" Eren and I both say bowl. "Alright that'll be $20.69." I start to get my wallet out, but Natsu stops me. He gives the money to the woman, and she gives him back his change. "Okay I'll go get that for you two and your number is 69."

Natsu and I sit down at a table, and we just kinda sit there being awkward. "So what were you writing your report on?" Natsu asks, in an attempt to break the silence and awkwardness. "The report is supposed to be about alchemists running amok, but I added some good things in there too. There's just so many bad things in the news that makes people scared, that there should be some happy stuff too." He nods at my response, like he understands what I mean.

"Number 69" we hear over the speaker, so we go up to get our ice cream as well as several napkins. We walk back to the table we originally sat at, eat our ice cream, and talk to each other like we've known the other for our entire lives. After our long chat, and finishing our ice cream we head back to his car.

"Man that ice cream was good!" Natsu says after we buckled up. "Yeah." I reply back to his statement.

"Maybe we could do this again?" I blurt out. "Haha maybe. I think that would be fun!" "R-really?" "Yeah of course," he says with a grand smile. "Tomorrow same time?"

Oh.

My.

God.

He's asking me out on another ice cream date. I feel my cheeks burn, and I try to hide it from Natsu. "Y-yeah. S-sure." (A/N omg he's like alphys XD) "Great!" Eren says, and he starts driving back to the office. I start to get out of the car when...

Cliffhanger!! I left it as a cliffhanger for two reasons. One, this chapter was starting to get long. Two, next part will be in Eren's POV and I want to write his reactions to everything. But, in the mean time, have a good day everybody. And happy April Fool's Day, I know I probably missed a chance to prank you guys but.. eh. Not really up to it.
