An Unexpected Love

The Next Morning

A/N hey guys! I know the updates are random, but eveboy came up with an idea for my update schedule: trying to get the chapters out for every Friday...? Idk, she can correct me in the comments. And I have a plan for where this will go, whereas with the past six story chapters I just kinda wung it. Also! I've entered this book into the watty's! Ttfn, ta ta for now!

Edward's POV

"So, what's for breakfast?" I ask Natsu, seeing his beautiful eyes looking at me, the tiredness still apparent in them. I can't help but smile at his morning gorgeousness, the light through the windows giving him a little bit of a halo.

"I can whip up some bacon and pancakes if you'd like?" He says, his sexy voice making me love him even more. "Mmm... that's sounds yummy. What kind of pancakes are you gonna make?" I respond back to him.

He thinks about for a bit, then looks back at me and suggests, "m&m pancakes?" "Mmmm that sounds good," I reply back to the love of my life. I make a sound that resembles annoyance, because I didn't want to get out of my position; my body being curled up against Natsu's, and we share the comforter that makes the bed and our bodies warm.

This was the best way to wake up.

"I know I know I'm warm and comfy too, but we gotta get outta bed at some point right? Come on." He says to me, recognizing what my noise was and acknowledging it.

I hum in agreement, and after we share a few kisses we get out of bed.

Natsu heads over to the kitchen to start up the pancakes, while I go into the bathroom and attempt to comb my incredibly messy hair. I then braid my hair, like I always have.

I go back down the stairs, and I see that Natsu has already made a stack of pancakes. I don't think he heard me go down the stairs, seeing as how he didn't turn to me or say anything so I decide to surprise him of sorts. I sneakily walk up behind him and hug him, then I give him a light peck on the cheek.

"These look really good babe! There's not even a speck of burntness anywhere on these!" I praise him, almost wanting to eat the pancakes right then and there, but I was a bit preoccupied hugging him. He chuckles a little before responding, "thanks babe. My mom used to tell me that they were delicious, but to me they always tasted a little bit off. You know what I mea-" he stops what he was saying with a sharp gasp, in response to me kissing his neck and ever so lightly sucking. I stop after he gasps, thinking that he didn't like it, but then he... Whimpers?

I've never really been in a relationship before, so I don't know if that's a good or bad sign... I decide to ask him, hoping that maybe he could tell me if that was good or not.

"Did that feel good?" I can feel my face getting hotter at my awkwardness, and I'm sure that Natsu's face is a bright pink; we may have only just started dating yesterday, but I feel like I already know him well. "I-i... Think so? I don't really know... I've never been kissed there, so I don't know how it's supposed to feel..." I feel even more embarrassed, but I'm sure it's not as much as Natsu... I don't regret my decision, but after that whole exchange I can feel the awkward tension.

After what seems like an hour or two of tension, that tension is then suddenly broken by my phone's ringtone going off: "Disco girl! Coming through! That girl is you! Oo ooo, oo ooo!" I recognize that as Al's ringtone, and I release Natsu to answer Al. "Hey. What's up? You do realize that's it's early in the morning right?" I say as I put the phone up to my ear. "Brother. It's almost eleven thirty." "Oh." "Anyways, the more important thing to ask is: WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU??!!" I realize then that I didn't tell Al about Natsu and that I was staying at his place, but after that revelation, I realize that I just heard Al swear. He normally doesn't swear unless... Oh God I fucked up... "I'm sorry Al, you must be really upset with me. I know that because you don't swear unless you're mad at something... Or on this case, someone. I didn't come home last night because I was staying at Natsu's house, and I forgot to text or call you to let you know where I was."

I hear Al sigh over the phone before he responds to me. "Well, I'm just glad that you're okay. By the way, who's Natsu?" "Oh uh well, Natsu is my new assistant at work." "Oh cool! Br-" "And he is also my boyfriend." There's a pause at the other end and it feels like my heart is pounding, but at the same time, not pounding and it just... Stopped? I look over at Natsu and he's able to read my face, so he finishes up the last two pancakes, turns the grill off, and holds my hand tight. It takes a bit before I hear Al's voice, but I'm eventually met with, "Well Brother, I just want you to know that I'm happy for you. And my GOD it took you forEVER to get a boyfriend!! Do you think I could meet the man of my brother's dreams tonight for super?" I squeeze his hand and I look at him, giving him a great, big, hearty smile. "Yeah, I think you could and should. I think you'll love him." "Brother I'm pretty sure I'll love him, but not NEARLY as much as you do." I laugh a little at his comment, and I feel a lot calmer after telling my brother about my boyfriend, the love of my life. "Okay so I'll see you aaaaaatt... 5:30?" "Sure! I'll whip up some of my chicken and rice special." "Okay, bye Al." "Bye Brother." I hang up the phone and look over to Natsu, and we smile at each other.

"Hey Natsu." "Yeah Ed?" "You doing anything tonight?" "I could either give you an innuendious answer, or an actual answer. Which would you prefer?" Natsu replies with a somewhat perverted smirk. "The actual answer, because I already have a feeling what you'd say for the innuendious answer." He smiles and gives me a wink before he says, "Nothing really, why?"

"Because I'd like to bring you to my house, and meet my younger brother." And with that, we sit down at Natsu's glass table (how he hasn't broken it yet, I'll never know) and we eat his delicious m&m pancakes.

Hey guys, sorry it took so long to get this chapter out. I've been doing so much this summer (right now I'm on the second day of being a sophomore), such as going to an anime convention. But do not worry, I will try my best to get on a better updating habit. But for now, you will be left with this until next Friday. Bye guys
