Nathan nervously paced around the room. He spent so long trying to learn how to play the guitar and sing. Emma was coming over so hang out. The doorbell rang. Nathan put his guitar by the couch and opened the door.

"Hey Nathan."

"Hey."

Emma walked in. She walked right into the kitchen. Nathan laughed. 'How cute.' He thought.

"Why am I not surprised? First place you go is the kitchen to get food."

"Well duh? What do you expect, I'm hungry!"

She yelled from the kitchen. Nathan sat down on the couch. His hand touched his guitar. After a few minutes, Emma came out with some chocolate and sat on the couch.

"Uh... Hey. I wanna show you something."

"Oh yeah sure. Go ahead!"

Nathan pulled out his guitar.

"Oh? I didn't know you played guitar! When did you start? Maybe we could do some duets?"

"Yeah, that would be amazing. But I've been working on something. Wanna hear?"

"Of course!"

Nathan paused.

"I think you're awesome."

"You thought I was awesome? You? Nathan.."

"Definitely."

   "How?"

Nathan took a deep breath and started to strum his guitar.

"I think... There's nothing like your smile. Sort of subtle, and perfect, and real."

Emma smiled and covered half her face with her hand, blushing.

"I think... You never know how wonderful that smile could make someone feel."

Nathan smiled to himself and kept playing.

"And I know... Whenever you get bored, you scribble stars, on the cuff of your jeans."

Emma laughed and looks at her jeans, indeed covered in little tiny stars.

"And I noticed that you still fill out the quizzes that they put in those teens magazines."

They both laughed.

"But I kept it all inside my head... What I saw, I left unsaid."

Emma tucked a piece of hair behind her ear.

"And though I wanted too. I couldn't talk to you. I couldn't find a way, but I would always say..."

Emma had tears in her eyes.

"If I could tell her... Tell her everything I see, if I could tell her... How's she's everything to me."

Tears of happiness slid down her face.
