Grace [On Hold]

Chapter 7

Alex, we have to go somewhere else to shift. Alex!

Alex was too busy staring at Kameron to notice me, so I do the only thing to get his attention. I pounce on him. I dig my feet into the ground and push, sending myself in the air. My front paws shove into his side and push him to the ground.

What the hell, Grace! he snarls at me and I snarl back.

If you weren't looking at your piece of ass then I wouldn't have to tackle you to get your damn attention! We have to go somewhere else to shift and then I will tell Beta Nathan what happened today. Understand?

Why Beta? he asks.

Because I'm ignoring Alpha. I tried to ignore Luna, but I love food, so....

Alex growls. Nobody cares about your stomach, now get your ass off me!

I growl at him, but comply. Alex, she recognized you, I tell him in a serious tone.

He trots towards the school doors and people scurry out of the way. One person was brave enough to open the doors for him. I follow him out the door, nodding at the kid who held the door open for us. His jaw drops and when I pass through the doorway, the door escapes his fingers as he tells his friends what happened. It took me a couple minutes to realize that Alex was either ignoring me or didn't hear me.

In the same serious tone, I repeat myself. We went behind the school and we looked around. The school yard was as barren as a desert, but we waited another minute before shifting. Alex still hasn't answered me and I can see him staring off in space. I raise my arms in defeat.

"Fine," I say, shoving pass him. "You don't want to acknowledge my presence? Fine. I'm done. Have fun wallowing in your emotions." I ram my shoulder into his arm as I walk away, not looking back at him.

I have to find Jacob.

Jacob P.O.V.

When Grace shoved me into the bathroom, I peeked out and saw something that I would have never imagined. I could see her looking towards the bathroom, a look of anxiousness on her face. I held my breath, afraid that she would see me. But what I saw--what I saw makes all the stories true.

I saw Grace shift into a wolf. No joke. One minute, she was there, the next a growl erupted from down the hall and she was replaced by a wolf. Okay, now I know she is who I was told she was. I knew it was her when the wolf turned to look back towards the bathroom. The wolf had the same beauty in it's grey eyes that her purple ones had. The ones that had been full of boredom. The ones that captured my attention.

After she took off, I stepped out of the door, ignoring what she said about staying. I was finding Kameron's ass to ask what the hell she got me into. I storm out to the main hallway of the school and see a ring of people surrounding some kind of fight. Why me?

I'm just about to go in and break it up when I see a wolf get thrown against the wall. Hard. The animal gets up and shakes itself off. A normal animal would have died on the spot. I am about to go get a teacher when Kameron stops me.

"There you are! Do you have any idea where Alex is?" she asks, worry thick in her voice. I'm no expert, but I think that Kameron is into Alex. Like way into him. Which can be really bad considering what he is. "I don't know where he's at."

"What do you mean you don't know where he is?" I ask her forcefully. "I thought he was with you!"

She crosses her arms and glares at me. "He was! But then I turned around and he was gone! And what about Grace? I thought she was with you. Where did she go?"

I don't know whether or not to tell Kameron the whole thing about Grace turning into a wolf. I wasn't sure if she would believe me, considering the whole story of Grace in our childhood tales were believed to be legend. "She went to the bathroom and hasn't returned yet. I have no idea where she's at." Complete and total lie.

She looks at me, like she knows I'm not telling her something. I could understand why. Kameron was one of my best friends. I chose her over many of my guy friends to go do stuff with, so she knew a lot more about me than anyone. Sometimes even myself.

She turns to look at the fight going on between the three wolves. I see her eyes lock with a silver wolf with golden eyes. I look towards the fight and see a dead wolf, that was twice the size of the other two, lying on the ground. My eyes slide over to the brown wolf with silver eyes that were focused on Kameron and the silver wolf.

The brown wolf appears to have narrowed its eyes right before it pounces on the silver one. I look over at Kameron to see fear plain in her eyes. She mutters something that sounded sort of like 'Alex'. I hear a growl and look over to see the brown wolf getting off the silver one.

The wolves walk towards the door and Jeremy, being Jeremy, opened the door for them. The brown wolf must have done something because Jeremy's jaw drops to the floor and his fingers lose grip of the door. He runs over to his nerd friends and starts rambling like a maniac and they give him disbelieving looks.

"Everybody needs to clear the halls and go to class! Come on, clear the halls!" Mrs. Edgar's ear-aching voice fills the silence that followed the wolves' departure. I lead Kameron back to her class and push through the front doors. I hear distant voices coming from behind the building, so I start walking towards them.

I'm halfway to the back of the building when I can actually comprehend what the voices were saying. "--my presence? Fine. I'm done. Have fun wallowing in your emotions." I hear footsteps and panic. What am I gonna do? Uh, oh my God....

A feminine body slams into me, making them almost fall on their ass. I wrap my hands around their waist and electricity courses through me. Oh, no. I look down at her face and see a horrified look on her face.

"Jacob?"

Okay so this was longer than usual and as you can see, I put in Jacob's Pov. again. And Jacob saw Grace shift!! How awkward is that conversation going to be?

And I really have nothing to say after this chapter. I'm not really good with drama because I don't participate in it, but I try.

Anyway, feedback would be AMAZING but if you don't want to, it's not like I'm going to find you and force you to comment....or would I?
