This day started of like any other. I woke up around 9:30, it was summer so I woke up later than I usually would. I put my glasses on and went to the bathroom. I brushed my long chestnut brown hair and went down stairs to go eat breakfast.

"Good morning grandpa!" I said as walked into the kitchen.

"Good morning Coral!" He replied.

I went to the pantry to go get some food. Felt something against my knee.

"Good morning Lucy," I said with a smile as I scratched my dog behind the ear.

I reached for the box of oatmeal. Strangely, there was no oatmeal left in the empty box some evil soul set on the shelf after taking the last of the oatmeal. I decided to have some cereal.
"How did you sleep well?" Grandpa
asked.

"Really well, but I had a odd dream about being a mermaid. Weird, right?"

"That dream isn't weird compared to the one I had. My dream was about me turning into a duck and falling in love with a cow."

Both my and grandpa giggled.

"Coral, you have your mothers blue eyes," he said.

"You tell me that every morning grandpa!"

After I ate breakfast I met up with my best friend, Ryan, at the beach.

"Sup Coral?" He asked.

"Nothing much," I replied.

Before you start thinking Ryan and I like each other, you should know that we have been best friends since I was 2 and he was 3. Recently, I have been wanting us to be more than friends, though. He is so perfect. He is kind, funny, and good looking. Now let's get back to the story.

"Let's go to the trail of rocks!" he told me.

The trail of rocks is a bunch of big rocks in the form of what looks like a trail. It leads out from the beach into the ocean were the water is deep, but still sallow enough for my head to be above the water while my feet are touching the sand.

We started walking on the rocks. I was in front of Ryan. I kept looking behind me just to see his blonde hair in the wind and he amazing blue eyes.

"So, how was your trip in Paris?" I asked Ryan. Him and his family just got back from vacation the day before.

"It was really fun!" He replied.

"What did you do?"

"Lots of stuff, but my favorite was going to the top of the Eiffel Tower and looking down at the view of the city."

"That sounds amazing!"

"It was!"

That was the last thing I remember before slipping off one of the rocks and being carried deep into the ocean.
