Underneath

Chapter 7

After I ate some lunch with my grandpa, I went to the beach.

When I got there I walked along the shore. The sunshine felt amazing on my skin. I'm so glad I wore sandals because the sand felt marvelous between my toes. The water was crystal blue. There was a slight breeze.

I stepped into the water where it was half way to my knees. The water was cool, not to cold and not to warm. I looked over and saw Ryan sitting on a rock. He had a frown on his beautiful face.

I walked over to him. I sat down and put my arm around him.

He was seemed startled by me. I saw saw his eyes looking into mine.

"Coral?!" He said said sounding surprised.

"It's me," I said. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing," he responded. I could tell something was wrong because he was about to cry.

"I know somethings wrong, just tell me."

"Okay. When you fell into the water yesterday you disappeared. I thought you would be gone forever."

"I'm here now," my eyes were tearing up and he already had tears in his eyes.

"What happened after you drifted out to sea?"

"I wish I could say, but I'm not aloud to tell you," now tears were streaming down my face. "Even if I could I don't have the right words to explain it with."

We both stood up and started walking down the shore. We were holding hands, too!

"Coral,"Ryan said.

"What?" I asked.

"I have something really important to tell you."

He kissed me. It was my first kiss. He quickly pulled away. It felt so good to be in his arms.

"I love you, Coral!"

"I love you too, Ryan!"

We kissed again. I was still in his arms. I felt like I was melting with love. I wanted this moment to go on forever. All my stress and sadness left me. In that moment I knew I truly love him. It was beautiful. Nothing else mattered to me.

Sadly he pulled away.

"I have to go now," I told him. I stepped into the ocean.

"Will you come back?" He asked.

"I will come back as long as you still love me!"

"I will always love you!"

"No matter what happens now, promise you will never tell anyone."

"I promise."

I walked into the ocean 'till the water was to my waist. I tour my necklace off. Water swirled around my until my tail was visible. I pulled off my glasses and tossed them to Ryan. (Luckily he caught them!)

"I love you Ryan. So, so much," I said as I swam into the distance.
