When Aaron and I got to the palace, the doors started to open. I could see a man on a throne. He had hair the same color as mine and green eyes. A crown was on his head and a trident was in his hand. I was assuming he was the king, my dad.
"Aaron put my daughter down," he demanded.
"Okay, King Rolland," Aaron replied as he bowed down.
"Come here Coral," my dad said.
I made my way to the king. I saw Sirena beside the throne. She was holding my necklace.
"You are so grown up. I can't believe you are fifteen," my dad remarked. His eyes were tearing up.
"Thanks dad," I mumbled.
"You look just like your mother."
"That's what grandpa always tells me. May I ask you some questions?"
"Of course, dear."
"Why did I have to live with grandpa if you were alive this whole time?"
"This place wasn't safe."
"Why wasn't it safe here?"
"I will explain it to you later, darling."
"Okay."
"Aaron, show Coral to her room," my father ordered.
"Of course, your highness," Aaron responded. "Follow me Coral."
I followed Aaron up the stairs that were next to the throne. We went down a hallway and stopped at a door.
"This is your room," he told me.
Aaron open the door. The room was huge. The walls were a light gray color. The bed looked to be a queen sized. The bed spread was royal with a flowers design the same color the walls with teal accents. This room was so big there was even a sitting area with couches. There was a window that had curtains that were the same blue that the bed spread was with one teal stripe at the bottom and gray lace below it. The window had a window seat that was a light grey that looked almost white. It had pillows that were all different designs. Looking around I could that the color scheme of this room was royal blue, teal, and grey.
"If you don't like anything in this room, I will have it changed," Aaron mumbled.
"This room is absolutely perfect," I said.
"Great! Is there anything else I could do for you?"
"I would like to talk to my father. Could you please get him?"
"Totally!"
Aaron swam out of the room. I flopped onto my bed. I was thinking about how my life will be for now on. Questions started running through my head. What will grandpa think? I have to go back and tell him everything. What will I tell Ryan? This whole thing was stressing me out.
"Aaron said you needed me."
I sat up and saw that my dad swam into the room.
"Yes," I responded. "I need to leave."
"Why? You've only just got here."
"Grandpa must be so worried about me. I have to tell him what's going on."
"I understand, but you can't leave now."
"Why not?"
"It's not safe around here after dark."
"Makes sense."
"You can leave here after breakfast in the morning."
"Okay!"
"You should get some sleep now."
"Got it. Good night, dad."
"Good night, Coral."
My dad left the room. I was so stressed out it was hard for me to fall asleep. Some how I fell asleep though.
