I opened my eyes and found myself on the same beach I was on with Ryan the day before. It felt so good to have legs again. I looked around and found the path that leads to my house.

I followed it as my house came into view. I saw Lucy on the front porch. When she saw me she ran towards me and started barking.

"Lucy!" I said as I rapped my arms around her.

"Woof! Woof! Woof!" she replied.

I started walking to the front door. When I came to the door I knocked. The door creaked open. I saw my grandpas face.

"Coral! I was so worried!" He said anxiously as he hugged me.

"It's okay grandpa," I responded.

"Come in honey."

"Okay. I have something really important to tell you."

"Okay sweetie."

Me and my grandpa walked into our living room. He sat on the couch and I sat on the chair across from him.

"What do you need to tell me?" He asked.

"Well... It's a long story," I replied.

"We have time."

"I found out I'm a mermaid, and I met my dad."

"I'm so glad to hear that!"

"Really?"

"Yes! It's been so hard keeping all these secrets from you."

"I also met my sister."

"Charlie?"

"Yes."

"I'm so happy!"

Grandpa came over and hugged me. Tears of joy in his eyes. I couldn't help but start crying.

"What's wrong honey?" Grandpa asked.

"Nothing, I just love so much!" I responded.

"Do you think some mashed potatoes would cheer would up?"

"They always do!"

I walked over to the kitchen with my grandpa. He went into the fridge and got out some left over mashed potatoes and some gravy. I got out some plaits and forks. He put the food in the microwave. I set the plaits and silverware on the table. Grandpa got the food out of the microwave. We both sat down.

"So, have you read any new books?" He asked me.

"I just finished The Evolution of Calpernia Tate!"

"Was it good?"

"It was amazing!"

"What was it about?"

"It was a girl in the 19th century who loved science, but her parents didn't want her to do science."

"Interesting! I should read it sometime!"

I started eating my mashed potatoes. They were delightful! There weren't to creamy or to buttery. They were delicious! Hands down they best mashed potatoes I've ever had.

Now back to the story. No matter how happy I was, I was still stressing over what I was going to tell Ryan.

I stood up and walked over to my grandpa.

"I have to go back now," I said. "I promise I will come back as soon as I can."

"I understand," grandpa said rapping his arms around me, giving me a hug.

"I love you grandpa."

"I love you too, Coral."

I didn't want to let go.
