"Jay-Jay! Wait Jay Alden." Someone constantly yelled from across the park over the loudness of the surroundings. I glance towards Mari, Jays friend, and follow her eyes toward...Jay.My eyes land on Jay and she stares back at me with a worried/ busted glare. I stuff my hands into my pockets and hold my posture.
I didn't come here purposely to run into Jay because of her little sister, but Jackie actually did want to come here and she proposed the idea, so I called Deck and told her to come and here we are. I didn't expect to run into Jay, it's a huge carnival area and thought it'll be like a 40% chance of seeing her.
The two girls discuss something. Jay looks to her friend with an infuriated glare. Mari smiles brightly as she looks over her shoulder at me and I quickly advert my eyes elsewhere. They're definitely talking about me.
"Isn't that your girl, Jay?" Joel chuckles as he points over to them. I stare at him coldly and his smile drops from his face as he sees I'm not in the mood.
"Joel you're seriously bad at paying attention, she literally just stated they broke up because the girl is moving away and wasn't planning on telling her," Jackie briefly explains as she sucks on the popsicle. Nice to know Joel doesn't pay any fucking attention to anything that's coming out of my mouth.
"I do pay attention, I was just fucking with her!" He wasn't, he was too busy staring at a girls ass as she walked pass us with some small fucking shorts on. She does know this is a family event, right? Little fucking children walk around but they'll have to see her cheeks hang out.
I glare back at the two and see Mari shoving Jay over here. Mari doesn't need to force her over here. If she doesn't want to come, she doesn't have to.
Pretty soon Jay is standing near us and she smiles awkwardly at me. I ignore her staring and stare towards the pier. I can't look at her right now/ my eyes could reveal my pain if she looked long enough.
"H-Hi Jackie and Joel," she addresses them both. Jackie smiles and wave and Joel nods throwing her a wink.
"Long time no see beauty," Joel chuckles as Jackie throws him a "knock it off" look. Jay fumbles with her straw and stares down sheepishly avoiding eye contact with me. She knows I'm looking at her, that's why she doesn't stare at my glare.
"Uh hi I'm Mari, Jay's lovely bestfriend!" She introduces. Jackie and Joel soon introduce themselves. Joel introduces himself by flirting with Mari. Of course.
"Uh Joel didn't you say you had to piss?" Jackie questions raising her perfectly drawn eyebrows, so obviously. I know what they are doing.
"Uh yeah! That sprite went right through me!" He chuckles rubbing his belly. Jackie groans and rolls her eyes as she pulls him along.
"I think I'll go find Joe and Nyla! Nice seeing you again Ky," Mari smiles softly before running away, leaving us alone. Well not alone because there are hundreds of other people surrounding us.
"Are you gonna look at me?" I finally speak lowly, my voice sounding soft and raspy. I haven't been talking much since we've been here. I don't know why I agreed to come since I was really upset and annoyed. I didn't want to be bothered and basically shut everyone out.
"Wanna go some where private?" She questions. Her voice very soft and nervous. I can tell she's super scared to talk to me. She's never been like this so this is new. It kinda makes my heart pain because it makes it feel like we're strangers all over again.
"Or less crowded and noisy?" She restates quickly. I nod and follow behind her as she heads towards the pier. Once we're far away from the noise and people, she just stares at me for awhile. Even though I'm not looking at her, face to face, I can tell she's looking at me. I look at the tide and the rushing waves, the gulls that fight over the French fries near the stairs to the beach.
