The Truth

"Get out of my way!" yelled Siegrain. "Not until you go through me first! I'm not letting you kill him." I held Jellal closer to me. Siegrain hitched releasing his magic energy. "Erza, Jellal!" Gray yelled at the back as I closed my eyes waiting for the impact. Soon after I didn't felt any pain. I drifted open and saw Jellal set up a barrier to block the attack with his hand.

"Impressive you managed to block my attack." said Siegrain as I helped Jellal up. "Listen Siegrain...the truth is..." He coughed several times before finishing his sentence. "I didn't kill mom."

"Shut your trap I saw her blood on your hands!"

"It was but I didn't kill her. It's the truth..." Siegrain came over giving a hard slap on the face. "Stop it!" I caught hold of Siegrain's hand, pushing it away. Gray quickly caught Jellal before he touches the ground. "Thanks Gray...but I'll have to explain to Siegrain everything." said Jellal as Gray supported Jellal by putting one of his hands around him.

Jellal took a few deep breaths before explaining things. "Mom was already injured the moment I came into her room that night. I was shocked seeing her state...

JELLAL'S FLASHBACK

"Mother! Are you alright? What happened!?!" Mother cupped my cheeks, her hands were covered with blood. She gave a soft smile, "Listen Jellal, you need to get out of here, it's too dangerous to be here." She coughed harshly and vomited blood. "Mother! I can't...leave you here!" I tried to help her up but she stopped me from doing so. "Jellal dear please, it's for your own good, take Siegrain and run away before he comes here. I'll stop him whatever I can, go now my love."

Tears were flowing out from my eyes, anger...sadness all of it were flowing through me, "Who did this to you?" She gave a soft laugh and gave a hug, "Don't worry Jellal, now run along." Then I heard a loud crashing sound from below and a strong wind came howling. "Run Jellal, take your brother along and get out of here now!"

"Mother!" Then parts of the ceiling started falling apart breaking the two of us apart. "I love you Jellal, Siegrain, stay safe." Those were the last words I heard before I passed out after getting hit by the broken ruins that came down. After a while, I regain my conscious. I caught a glimpse of black hair and those red eyes. My eyes widened seeing mom dead in his arms. He pulled out his arm out of her chest and licked the blood at his fingers.

I gasped, crying...I couldn't take the scene off from me. "Nooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!" I cried out feeling the raged burning through me. "You must be her child right? Oh my you look exactly the same as the other one. You two must be twins." I gasped seeing Siegrain being held captive by him. He was unconscious. "Please don't kill him!" I begged making my way towards him. He grinned using his magic and pushed me back away. My back hit against the broken ruins as he threw Siegrain towards me. I held him in my arms trying to wake him up. "Please Siegrain...wake up!" I saw his forehead was bleeding badly. I gritted my teeth, glaring at the black haired guy, "You killed my mom and even hurt my brother...YOU'LL PAY FOR THAT!!!!!" I raged out running towards him.

He sneered, "You really think you can beat me?" He stopped my fists and flung me over to the ground hardly. "You're brave to go against me kid, I'm impress. What's your name brat?"

I hitched as he added pressure at my neck. "Je...llal..." He snickered, "Well Jellal..." He paused kicking me away, "I'll let you live since you're so brave back then to come against me. See if you can defeat me for good the next time we meet. I'll be waiting..."

"Who are you?" I asked before he walks away. He stopped and grinned, "Zeref."

He laughed and vanished into thin air.

END OF FLASHBACK

CONTINUING TO ERZA'S POV

"I couldn't help myself back then...I felt so heartbroken, I couldn't even protect neither of you. So I thought leaving you to someone else care would be the best. I didn't want you to be involved as well." said Jellal with tears at his eyes. I cringed feeling bad about his past. He's been hiding his past, buried deep inside his heart and never shared with anyone. He always smiling to lock away his sadness.

Jellal wiped off his tears, "That's why when you woke up, you thought I killed mother, but actually she was hugging me before she died. I made a promise to her, to take care of you and stay alive."

Siegrain hitched, panting heavily, "I don't know who to believe anymore...I'm confused, all this time, everything I believe was nothing but a lie..."

"Siegrain..." Jellal gasped. "Then why did you leave me back there at the church?"

"I didn't want you to be involved with this. That's why I left you with the nuns, they promised to take care of you well. I'm sorry Siegrain, for leaving you all alone and even pretended to be rough with you. I won't mind if you still hate me. It's my fault to begin with."

There was a silence between those two for a while. Then Siegrain broke down dropping to his knees and hitting the ground several times before crying out. "I hate you...you know that..." Jellal gave a soft smile, "I know..." He slowly made his way to Siegrain.

All of the sudden, Siegrain got stabbed from behind. My eyes widened seeing Ultear behind with a smirk on her face and a sword in her hand. She stabbed deeply and make another cut before drawing out the sword. "SIEGRAIN!!!!" Jellal yelled embracing Siegrain before he tumbles to the ground. "Stay with me!"

I gritted my teeth, "Why Ultear!?! How could you?" I cursed under my breath as she laughed hysterically, "Well to tell you the truth, Zeref wasn't the one who killed your mother back then, it was just a merely an illusion created by me, so you can say that I'm the one who murdered your mother."

Jellal and Siegrain's eyes widened along with me and Gray. "But...why..." Siegrain slowly struggled getting up with Jellal's help. "Why Ultear? You were the one who told me that Jellal..."

She laughed, "You're so naive Siegrain, that is your weakness. You believe in people easily, jumping into conclusions. You're so cute with that pitiful look of yours."

"So it was you then..." said Jellal as I felt a sudden tense coming from him. "Jellal calm down, you're gonna lose more blood if you use more power." Gray warned but Jellal was already in full rage mode. The mansion started shaking, the ground was slowly shattering, bit by bit. "Jellal..."

Ultear grinned, "That's it Jellal, use more of your darkness...I want to see your true powers..."

"Jellal stop..." Siegrain said faintly at the back. "Get somewhere safe Siegrain, I'll kill her off with my bare hands." Jellal muttered as he make his way gathering all his magic energy. "Jellal!" Both me and Gray yelled but he didn't bother. Ultear laughed, "That's it, show me your power Jellal..."

I'll have to do something, I just can't stand here. I'm Jellal's servant and friend after all, I'll have to stop the both of them. From fighting."

Both of them were about to unleash their power when suddenly someone came in between them neutralizing their power. "How many times must I tell you Jellal, don't get overwhelm over your emotions." I gasped feeling shocked seeing the person right in front of me. "MOM?!!!???" She turned and gasped feeling shocked as well seeing me.

"Erza..."
