The morning was breezy and cold, quite unusual for the warm New Orleans climate. Stas was in the common room, staring out into nothingness when Michelle had entered after her. "Morning, Stas." Michelle greeted happily.

Stas rolled her eyes, annoyed at her sudden perkiness. "Looks like someone woke up on the right side of the bed this morning." Stas raised a brow in disgust at Michelle's happiness. In Stas' mind, no one could be happy unless it was her.

"It's a good day, today." Michelle said as she plopped herself on the chair in front of Stas.

"Why?" Stas inquired.

Michelle smirked. "Because today's the day Klaus gets to choose."

"Choose what?"
"Which one of us he prefers."
"Excuse me?"

Michelle smirked, feeling confident that when she goes to ask Klaus which one he'd rather spend eternity with, he would choose her. "Today's judgement day. Either he chooses me and gives you the boot, or he chooses you and— it doesn't matter because he'll choose me no matter what." Michelle shrugged it off, beginning to pick at her nails.

Stas began to cackle. She knew that sometimes she could be a rude bitch, but Michelle seems to forget that she is Klaus' twin, and they will be more bonded than she and Klaus will ever be. "Stupid bitch, you forget that we shared a womb." Stas rolled her eyes.

Michelle simply scoffed in return. "I guess we'll see." Stas cleared her throat then called for Klaus.

In an instant, Klaus appeared in front of the two girls. "What is it, Stas?" Klaus asked.

"Ms. Dubois had something to say to you." Stas snickered.

Michelle huffed, then stood up and embraced Klaus tightly. "What's wrong?" Klaus asked once again.

"Klaus, I'm tired of being treated like trash by your sister. You have to choose between us, either Stas or I, which one will have to leave this compound." Michelle explained eloquently, she had no doubt in her mind that Klaus would choose her.

Klaus was taken aback. "I can't choose between you two? Stas is blood and I love you Michelle," Klaus spun on his heel, "before you say anything Stas, yes I love her—"

"Ew, I don't need to hear that, brother. I'm not stupid. As much as I hate it, I know you two love each other." Stas scoffed.

Klaus stood in front of the two women as they bickered back and forth for a good 20 minutes. "Bitch, you should be thankful that I allowed you to even get a chance to explain yourself to my brother without being slain by his hand." Stas reminded.

Just as the two were about to continue to argue, Klaus stopped them, but he regretted that he silenced them, for he could've snuck away if he had allowed them to continue bickering... "I'm sorry, but... I'm going to have to go with Michelle—" Klaus began, his voice cracking because of the force he had to exert in order to say the words he knew he had to say.

"Ha! I told you!" Michelle interrupted Klaus, and began dancing around the room.

"I didn't finish..." Klaus stated over Michelle's cheering.

Michelle's cheering quickly subsided. "W—what?" Michelle stuttered.

"Michelle, Stas is my sister, my twin at that, and I love her just as much, if not more, than you. She's blood, and we Mikaelsons have thick blood— no matter what we've done to each other." Klaus attempted to justify his choice, hoping that Michelle would be empathetic.

In contrast to Klaus' beliefs, Michelle was in dismay. Never had she even thought of Klaus choosing Stas as the one he loved more than her. Then again, Michelle never really experienced the love of family, for her family had died when she was far too young to even form memories.

Michelle was far too angry to even speak, she simply stamped out of the house, leaving the siblings alone. "I'm sorry about that, Klaus. I know how much you loved her." Stas apologized. Klaus' confused face fell into a depressive one. He didn't mean to send his lover away, he mostly thought the question was a joke, and he thought Michelle would be reasonable and stay either way. But, oh how he was so wrong.
