"Dear, where did you find that?" Mum questioned as she pointed at the pendent that was still grasped within my hand holding it in front of my face
"In your jewellery box. What even is it?" I asked as I turned around to her
"Oh Poppy, I wish your father was here. Follow me, it's time that I show you something I wish I didn't have to."
Mum stated as she walked back out of the room and down the hallway'Where on earth is she going?' Was the only thought that came to me as I ran after her to find out what is going on, still keeping the pendent grasped in my hand for some odd reason
"Mum, what is going on?"
"Poppy there are secrets that you were never to know about your father, god bless his soul. But sadly I can't keep them hidden from you, and sadly I am not the one to tell you them." Mum stated as she turned back towards me
Looking around the room, I noticed that we are in what was once dad's office. A thin layer of dust lay covering the room after the years of it not being used, the pictures that decorated the room showing memories of all the places that dad visited over the years before his battle of cancer was lost.
"Poppy, before your dad left us, he knew that a time would come for you to know the truth, so he left a letter that was to be opened at that time." Mum stated as she pulled a letter out from the desk draw
As I was about to open the letter, mum held her hand over it. "Dear, before opening that letter, he said that the pendent was never meant to be worn until your 18th, but I guess cause you've found it you might as well put it on."
As I listened to mum I decided to do what she said, but still questioning why dad wanted to keep this mysterious secret from me. Taking the pendent necklace I lifted my mid-back waterfall of blond hair and clasped the thing around my neck, only to be greeted with a vivid metallic silver glow.Standing still I watched as all the pieces of metal that lie around the room, from pens to the desk chair began to liquidise and flow to me, only to start circling me in a vortex sort of motion that steadily grew in height until it reached pass my head, which wasn't hard as a strange pain radiated throughout my body causing me to fall to my knees.
"What is going on?" I shouted of the excoriating pain
"I don't know, pop." As mum stated that the vortex started to lower and flow away back to the places where the metal originated from.
"Hmm, Pop. You might want to check a mirror." Mum stated with a look of shock on her face and confusion laced throughout her voice
"Why?" I questioned, still getting over what just happened
