The next morning, when Tyler woke he realised Josh was laying right on top of him, his warm body pressed up against Tyler's. He felt comfortable; Josh was smaller than him, and a little lighter.
When Tyler moved slightly to get comfortable he woke up Josh. He stuck his sleepy head up and his tired eyes looked right into Tyler's. His tired face turned slightly pink as he realised his breasts were pressed up against Tyler's bare chest, but soon he snuggled back down and fell asleep again.
Soon they could hear people in the distance and had to get up incase someone saw them.
Quickly they got ready their stuff for a day in town performing again. 'Im so excited for this,' Said Josh, pulling on a baggy t shirt on top of his binder.
'Me too,' Tyler said, pulling up his skinny jeans.
Getting used to this strange routine, they went to the town day after day and played until their fingers were blistered and arms were muscly. Josh tried to make the homemade drum kit more stable and secured it to the ground of their spot, replacing parts that broke.
Sleeping on a beach, washing properly only a few times a week at the local b&b, spitting theyre toothpaste into the sea, yet they wouldn't want to be anywhere else in the whole world.
One day they saw cops gliding through the town and stuck up pictured of them, and they're heart dropped. Discretely they ripped these down, and Josh scraped some money together to get some cheap hair dye and cut his hair a little. Tyler however, didn't like Change so didn't do any of this, but was convinced to buy a hat, making it into a mask. Josh did the same, and in their performances they were unnoticed.
After a few more weeks they relaxed as did the people around them, and they became part of the town as much as the paved streets and the blue sky, so they no longer felt the need to wear these masks. They grew slightly richer each day and bought pens and paper for Song ideas and a proper blanket and new cheap clothes.
Tyler had thought of a new song idea and woke Josh up at about 6 o'clock. He played the beautiful song while Josh listened intently. The next day they played the song in the town, attracting an even bigger crowd, so they could Barely see most of their audience.
In the middle of this song Tyler thought he heard a gasp, but ignored it.
Then, through the crowd, a woman stumbled through. Her hair looked awful, her face was stripy with running mascara, and she had dark bags under her eyes and more wrinkles.
Hardly recognisable but just about, thought Tyler as he realised his mother, utterly ruined and seemingly aged 10 years older, was standing before him.
