Chapter 7

Melody

I ran as fast as my legs could take me, my heels hitting the pavement and my breathing was heavy.

The note said that Andy wasn't leaving until tomorrow at 6pm but the conversation with Kyle was stuck in my head...

*Flashback*

I stood with Kyle in the kitchen, Elijah had just left and Kyle was stood waiting for Luke so they could both leave too.

"So are you going to say bye to Andy?" His eyes were searching mine for answer but I just shook my head, I don't think I'd be able to watch him leave me again, it's obvious that he didn't want to stay otherwise he would've said this morning.

"Well he told me that they all decided to leave a day earlier, he wanted me to let you know that they're leaving today at 6, he'll be at the coach station" I crossed my arms and held back the single tear that was threatening to fall.

"Andy's leaving and I don't want to be around him when he says goodbye because at the end of the day it's my heart that's broken" my voice cracks slightly and that's when the tears start falling and soon enough I feel Kyle's arms wrapped around me.

"You can't let him leave you Mel"

*End of Flashback*

So now here I am, running like my life depended on it.

I didn't want to let Andy leave me again, I couldn't go through that pain and I know I have Elijah to fix me after but I still feel like a tiny part of me is missing and that part of me is Andy...

After 10 minutes of running I reach the coach station, my chest hurts and my eyes are filled with tears.

I search the waiting area looking for a group of 5 boys but I don't see them anywhere, my search is interrupted when I hear the tannoy.

"The 6:10 coach to Slough is now boarding at gate number 18, this is the last call for this coach"

I looked at the gate numbers near me and realised that 18 was at the other end.

My legs took off into a sprint and I managed to dodge everyone in my way, shouting a few apologies along the way.

I make my way to gate 18 and I don't see the boys in the waiting area so I look outside and there he is.

I see Rye climbing into the coach and soon enough Andy is hanging his bag over, I barge through the line of people earning a few 'hey's!!' And a few 'excuse me would be nice '

Andy starts walking up the stairs and that's when I find my voice. "Andy !!"

It came out a lot quieter than I expected but he slowly turned to face me and I saw a look of hope in his eyes.

He ran down the stairs and hugged me tight, at first I stood there but I quickly wrapped my arms around his neck and sobbed into his shoulder "Andy please, please don't leave me, not again"

Andy

My whole world felt like it had changed. I was ready to get on the coach back to Slough and to just forget about Melody again, that was until I heard her small voice from behind me, it didn't feel real so I slowly turned around and there she was.

She looked so broken, there were dried tear marks down her face and I could see more ready to fall, so I made my way off the coach and just wrapped my arms around her waist.

She hugged me back after a moment of hesitation and that's when I heard her voice again "Andy please, please don't leave me, not again" my heart shattered because I knew I had to do this.

I pulled away from her and stroked her cheek, I could feel the tears burning my own eyes and I looked into her sadness filled ones. "Melody, I-I have to go" a few tears fell from my eyes and I hated myself for doing this.

I could see Luke in the waiting area of the gate, he had come to say bye to me and decided to stay until he coach got here.

He made his way outside and waited.

"No Andy you can't, you've left me once before I'm not letting this happen again" I could hear the hurt in her voice and her body was shaking slightly, I felt a hand on my shoulder and heard a deep voice come from behind me.

"Mate it's time to go, everyone's on the coach, just you now" I turned to see Mikey and I nodded.

"I'll be there in 5" I looked back at Melody and I could see the disbelief in her eyes, she thought I would stay and as much as I wanted to, I couldn't.

I grabbed her face in my hands "Melody Grace, I love you so much, I hate myself every time I think about how I left you and one day I promise you will get the explanation you deserve, but right now you are happy without me in your life and as much as that hurts me, it's the truth. You have Elijah there to hold you when you're hurt, he can give you things that I can't Melody, but know that deep down I will always love you, forever and always remember ?"

More tears were falling from my eyes as I placed a small kiss on her forehead and dropped my hands from her face, she was shaking her head and Luke has appeared by her side.

"Andy you can't do this" I took a deep breath and made my way to the stairs, my legs felt like they were going to collapse from underneath me as I turned to face Melody one last time.

"Andy you make me happy please, I am begging you to stay!!" Everything shattered as I looked at her.

"I love you Melody..." and with those 4 words I made my way to the seat next to Rye and I watched the doors close and all I could see was Melody fall to floor as the coach drove out of the station....
