Chapter 30

Melody

The following days were the worst days ever. Andy had tried to talk to me multiple times but I always ignored him, I didn't want to know what petty excuse he had thought of.

I had met up with the Brennen guy that I had bumped into a few times and I have to admit he knew how to party, that's for sure.

It was 4.00am when I stumbled back into the hotel lobby with Lydia, Brennen and a couple of his friends but the sight of Andy in the lobby chair made me mad.

"Melody thank god, the boys and I were worried about you" he jumped up and attempted to move closer to me but this caused me to move further into Brennen's side.

"Do- Don't you dare come near me" I slurred, the pain evident in my voice as Brennen wrapped an arm around my shoulder to keep me near.

"Mel c'mon, let's get you up to your room" he went to grab my arm which angered Brennen slightly.

"Hey man don't touch her" he pushed Andy lightly as anger flashed on both of their faces.

Even though I was in a drunk state, I could tell that things were about to get messy and out of control.

"Listen pretty boy, you don't know her like I do alright, so how about you leave her alone?" Andy's voice rose higher, multiple emotions showed through his eyes.

Brennen moved his arm from around my shoulder and guided me to his friend Colby who pulled me close to his side. Lydia stood on the other side of me as their friend Jake also had his arm around Lydia.

Brennen started walking towards Andy and once he reached him, he looked down at him and ut a finger to his chest and started prodding at him.

"Melody has told me all about you tonight. How you make her cry, and not in a good way, how you are constantly breaking her heart, but most importantly, how she left the love of her life for a scumbag like you." Brennen had a way with words, he knew just how to anger Andy without laying a hand on him, however Andy was different.

He couldn't handle the harsh truth that Brennen  had spoke, so he swung a fist at his face, but luckily Brennen saw it coming and dodged out of the way, laughing at Andy's poor attempts.

I couldn't take the tension any longer as I broke away from Colby's side and towards the two boys.

"Andy will you stop this for god sake, maybe if you knew how to treat a girl right you wouldn't have to fight your way out of everything." It was my turn to prod his chest as Brennen backed away.

"Brennen, you guys go wait outside and book an Uber, Lyds and I will go and get our stuff" my voice softened slightly when talking to Brennen as I convinced him to go outside.

He nodded and took the rest of the boys outside while Lydia and I headed towards the lift, despite Andy calling my name.

Colby had said that we could spend the rest of our remaining time staying with them since I didn't want to be around Andy any longer and thankfully, Lydia wanted to get away too.

We grabbed our still packed cases from the floor and shoved the remaining little bits in before zipping it up and heading back outside towards the 3 boys.

About half an hour later we arrived at the house that Colby shared with 4 others, and let me tell you, the place was huge.

Brennen had left to go back to his apartment, Lydia had gone to make food with Jake, which left me with Colby, and since I was sharing his room, we headed up there so I could leave my case and become familiar with the room.

"Here we are, make yourself comfortable" he motioned at the room at stood awkwardly as I sat on his double bed.

"Soo" He sat next to me on the bed as he placed his chin in the palm of hi hand and looked at me, "do you like exploring?"

"yeah, I'd say I'm quite an adventurous girl" I shrugged my shoulders as a smile appeared on his face.

"Perfect, Sam, Jake and myself are exploring some abandoned places, you and Lydia are more than welcome to join us on our adventures"  He got up to use the bathroom while I took this as a chance to change into my pj's.

After doing so I sat back on the bed and noticed that I had plenty of missed calls and texts from all of the boys, however the only person I called back was Mikey. Why? Because he's the only one that knows how to handle situations like this, and it comforts me knowing he won't try to make me feel bad.

I clicked his contact name and waited for him to pick up, it didn't take long.

Mi: Mel?! Holy shit, are you safe??

His voice was full of concern and it made my heart hurt knowing that the tension between Andy and I was putting a strain on the boys.

Me: Hey Mikey, I'm fine, with some friends.

Mi: have you talked to Rye? he's going crazy thinking that you're hurt or in danger.

Me: why is he worrying so much? He's been acting so protective towards me since Andy fucked up.

This caused Mikey to go silent and all I heard was him sigh before continuing on.

Mi: He likes you Mel, he didn't want to say anything because you were with Andy but you mean so much to him.

Now it was my turn to go silent. I've suspected it for months now but I never wanted to believe it, but now I'm single and I could go for it, however thoughts of Elijah and also Colby swirled around my mind.

Me: Look Mike, I gotta go, I'll speak to Rye tomorrow, love you Bye.

I didn't give him a chance to speak before I hung up the phone and minutes later Colby strolled in with a box of pizza and some drinks for us.
