It's early and this California's sun on my skin was absolutely wonderful. I love Paris, but it was becoming too cold for me, even though we have to be back in the next couple of weeks for our runway, so I want to make the most of being here. Mom called me back after I left her twenty text messages about having Thanksgiving here in California and why it would be easier for everyone. Dad and Hilda wouldn't need a hotel and I honestly don't know if I can handle anymore plane travel at the moment. Thankfully she agreed to coming to California and instead of staying at a hotel, she will stay at my house.
Bruno helped me take my luggage inside my house as we walked to the fridge to grab the only thing I had, which was a dozen bottled waters. Bruno had to leave and it made me upset because we just got back.
"I will be back, I just have to get Geronimo and Jessica messaged me and needs-"
I had to cut him off as soon as I heard her name, "Fine-fine..." I shook my head.
We stood in my kitchen as his hands rubbed up and down my arms, "Are you mad?"
I looked away and down from his beautiful eyes, "No."
He didn't believe me, "Brooklyn..."
I shrugged his hands off my shoulders, "Stop." I shook my head.
"It won't be much longer." He spoke softly.
"Won't be much longer till we're stuck with her for the rest of our lives." I mumbled.
He scoffs, "Is that how you really feel about my unborn daughter, just stuck?"
I felt the guilt hit my gut after I said it as I looked at him and shook my head, "That's not what I meant and you know it."
He shook his head, "I'm not so sure."
"Really?!" I was becoming irritated that he doesn't know me better than that.
His concrete stare gave me chills, "Call me when you've calmed down." He rolls his eyes and turns to walk out.
"Bruno!" I call out to him but he only raises his hand to silent me as he walks past the mud room and leaves my house. "Fuck!" I slam my hand on my island as I immediately regret it as I felt pain shoot straight through my hand and up my arm.
I couldn't do this. The silence in this big house, I need someone here with me right now and he just walked out the door. I called my mom back as she answered at the first ring. "Hi mija. What's up?"
"Mommy, how fast can you pack?"
She gasps, "Why?" Her worried voice fills my ear.
I shook my head, "I just miss you, mommy. Can you leave today?"
"Ooh.. I don't know mija. My flight isn't for another few days. I don't have the money to leave early."
"I'll pay the difference mommy, I just miss you and want to spend as much time with you as I can."
She lightly whimpers on the other line as if she's gonna cry, "Awe my baby! Okay. I'm already packed."
I force a cheer because I'm still upset, "Yay! Okay, grab something to eat and head to the airport and I'll make the call."
My mom cheers, "Okay baby, I'll talk to you soon. I love you!"
"Love you, mom." I say sincerely. "See you soon."
I call the airport and switch her flight for today, paid the difference and put her in first class. My phone started to ring after I purchase mom's new ticket and see dads picture. I answer, "Sup pops."
