**Lukan's POV**
5 hours later
I can quite honestly say that I've never had more fun on the first day at any school than I did today. Once I got into Phys Ed, I was immediately greeted by a mob of large boys thinking I was a girl, which I had gotten a lot throughout my life because of my larger than the average waist and the way I dress. After Phys Ed, I had lunch, and holy crap this school's lunch is amazing! Fresh vegetables and fruits, soup, salad, pasta, pizza, a deli, milk, water, you name it! I, of course, had a healthy salad along with tomatoes (which, I might add, are a fruit, not a vegetable, contrary to popular belief), a cup of spinach, both of which were added to the salad later, and a simple bottle of raspberry flavoured water.
After lunch, I had a block period in a class called "Explorers," which from what I could tell was an extremely advanced version of English, with a bit of Social Studies, mixed in with it. After this class, I talked with the teacher, Mrs Cobisca, and immediately knew she would be my favourite teacher at this school. Afterwards, I made my way to my 6th-period class, Art. I was expecting to love this class, but all that happened was I joined in halfway through a project about making a clay box. My final class was, of course, my favourite: Science. I have always loved science, but I especially love this teacher, because today there was a substitute, Mrs Logan, and his go-to for subs is to have us watch Myth-Busters.
After a few minutes of sitting on the bench outside, my bus arrived and I walked over to get onto it. Once I was on the bus and in my seat, a white wolf kid with blue hair sat next to me and I just looked at his hair for a moment thinking Wait. Was he? Was he the one behind the display case? I didn't say anything about it, but I decided to greet him anyways.
I smiled at the boy and said, "Hey there!"
He didn't reply with words but he smiled back at me and took out a small booklet and pen and started scribbling on it. At first, I was a bit put off by him not responding, but then my heart broke a small bit when he handed me the book and I read what it said. "My name is Mizu Hikari. Forgive me for not being able to respond to you, but I can't speak. My voice box broke when I was born, so it's been that way all my life. What's your name?" He just smiled at me as I read this, my heart still breaking because I feel sorry for him.
"I'm Lukan, but most just call me Luke." As I said this I handed him his book back and hugged him. He got a little surprised by it, but slowly he started to hug back, and I knew I had a good friend.
"So I have a question, Mizu." I had decided to ask him about the case, indirectly, but not in public. "Do you want to come over to my house?"
He smiles a bit weakly and nods after a moment of thinking, then he writes, "I guess that would work. Do you have books?"
I read the part about books and smiled brightly, "Yes Mizu, I have books. Books are my favourite things that exist, along with art supplies." I reached for my bag that I have with me and unzip it, then I lift it up to reveal about 3 different novels as well as 3 notebooks and a whole mess of sharpies, other markers, pens, pencils, crayons, pastels, everything.
He smiles back at me and looks at one of the books for a moment before writing, "Could I look at that blue book? The Rick Riordan one?"
I smile and nod as I take the book out of my bag and handed it to him, "sure, I trust you."
1 hour later
We arrived at my house and I held the door for Mizu and he quickly flipped to a page saying, "Thank you," and we smiled at each other. I closed the door and showed him to my room, closing the door so we aren't interrupted by my sister. I sat on my bed and smiled as I gestured for Mizu to sit down with me. He sat and smiled as I started to turn on my PS3 and go to YouTube.
