**Lukan's POV**
I walked in through the front doors of the school building and the first thing that happened would give me a good friend, though I didn't know it at the time. I walk into the lobby of the building and immediately begin analysing my surroundings. To my right a janitor's closet, then a doorway to a hallway leading off in that direction, then a window with one of those metal shutter things in front of it but painted red, then another doorway leading outside to what seemed to me like a courtyard of some sort, then the obvious office (where I was supposed to be going), then 2 hallways forking off in different directions there, then I see the final thing, a large display case with pieces of art that I could only assume were made by students in the art class I'm going to later. I walked over to the display and looked at the art and something catches my attention, a small bit of blue just out of the corner of my eye appears from behind the red display case. I cock my head slightly before bending down to try to see what it was. I reached my paw out and set it on the corner of the display case to give myself leverage to move around, but I was stopped abruptly by a paw on my shoulder. I was pulled to stand upright and was then facing my counsellor, a very tall and lean black fox with small half moon glasses named Mr. Tolluck.
**Mr. Tolluck's POV**
My name is Bradley S. Tolluck. I am the counsellor for the 8th grade students at PiHi. I am a fox with fully black fur except for the index and ring fingers on my left hand paw and opposite fingers for my right, as well as the small stripe of white around the end of my tail. I am about 178 cm tall and am rather fit from my days prior to being a counsellor where I was a basketball coach at this same school.
I discovered my new student, a young and rather interesting wolf (interesting because of his wings and the fact of his eyes being 2 separate colours similar to the Egyptian God Horus) named Lukan Bloodfang, as I was walking to grab something from my car, because I inevitably forget something every day. He seemed to be acting rather peculiar, he was bending down behind the old display case in the lobby. I reached out and touched him on the shoulder and he immediately stood up and faced me.
"Hello Lukan. Are you ready to start your first day of school?"
He replies in his small voice, small and meek yet at the same time you can tell he knows what he's saying, "Yes sir."
I chuckle slightly and reply with, "Good. Now come with me and I'll get a student up here to the office to show you to your second period class. Unless you want to wait a little bit and go to your 3rd period first?"
He looks timidly at his schedule and replies, "I think I'll start with 3rd period. Social Studies isn't my strong suit." He lowers his ears slightly as though he's ashamed of it.
I reply to him and say, "Don't sweat it Lukan, it was my worst subject too." I crack a slight smile, which then seemed to make him feel a tad bit better about it.
**Lukan's POV**
Mr. Tolluck tells me that Social Studies was his worst subject, it lifts a small weight off my shoulder. Hearing a teacher say that they hate a certain subject that you do forms a slight bond, which is helpful when you're the new kid at the school.
A moment later Mr. Tolluck gestured for me to follow him and he led me to his office to wait until the bell for passing period rang and he turned to his computer, after we both sat down in chairs, and started tapping away at his keyboard. All I could do was think to myself wondering what that blue object was and how it could have gotten behind the display case.
I was lost in thought for a long time it seemed because I was jolted to my senses by a gentle shake from Mr. Tolluck.
"Are you alright, Lukan? You seem to have dozed off for a moment there."
I came to and realised that and chuckled a little as I said, "Yeah, I'm alright. I just got lost in my train of thought I guess."
He seemed to be convinced as he replied, "Clearly. Anyways, the bell is about to ring for 2nd period to end, so I've just called up a student from his class to show you where the gym is, and introduce you to your teacher. Let me see your schedule for a moment." He then scanned my schedule for a moment before handing it back to me and smiling. "Great, he's even in your class group, so he can show you kind of how Ms. Cristle runs the class."
I smile, "That's great. I hate not knowing anyone in my classes."
A moment later a tall fox with fur the colour of blood walked into Mr. Tolluck's office and began speaking in a raspy tenor voice, "You needed me Mr. Tolluck?" He then saw me and smiled, nodding curtly.
I smiled back shyly as Mr. Tolluck replied, "Yes Zak, I do." He gestured to me, "This is Lukan, he's a new student and he's in your class for Gym 3rd period. I want you to show him where it is and help him along a bit so he gets to know how our school works a little better. And who knows, you two might just become friends along the way!" He chuckled a bit.
I blushed lightly as this tall fox reached his paw out immediately while smiling, and then I grabbed his paw back and shook it a bit smiling slightly and then he pulled me to stand up causing me to exclaim a little, "woah!" And stand up to fast and ended up leaning against him slightly with my arms pulled in and paws on his chest. I noticed after a second and stood up straight quickly and backed a step away blushing, "Sorry!"
He just chuckled as I backed off, as he had had his paws on my shoulders at that moment to make sure I didn't fall, and smiled slyly, "Don't worry about it little bud. It was an accident. Probably my fault for pulling you to your paws so fast." He then looked me up and down a bit and I could tell he was trying to see if Mr. Tolluck was joking when he called me a guy. He shook his head a little, causing his large fox ears to shake wildly like mine do, and waved a little and did a turn on his heels and said, "Follow me, I'll show you where the gym is little buddy." And he began to lead me to the gym.
Just as we walked out of the main door to the office the bell rang, very loudly I might add, since it was right above our heads. I jumped a little and grabbed his arm and then once the bell stopped ringing I sprang up straight and blushed again, "Sorry. Again."
"No worries little bud." He patted my shoulder and I blushed a little more as he chuckled.
After he took his paw off my shoulder I perked my ears up as I remembered the blue tuft of something. I started walking, slightly forgetting that I was supposed to go to the gym, and slowed down a bit and waited for everyone to pass before I bent down and started to look around the corner of the display case again. I was once again interrupted however, this time by Zak, but not before I saw what looked like the top of a head, one closed eye and the other hidden behind blue hair.
"Whatcha doin little bud?" Zak asks me with his head cocked just slightly. I wanted to yell out about the body but I was too scared to say anything about it and freaked out a little and instead of answering truthfully I said. "Oh nothing. Just curiosity getting the better of me," with my paw on the back of my neck a bit and chuckling. He smiled a little and that made me feel so much better about this and he patted my back a little, "Don't worry about it Luke, I get rather curious sometimes too." I smiled back at him as he said that. "Okay. That makes me feel a bit better about it." "Good. Now let's go to the gym, the bell's gonna ring soon." He starts leading me to the gym, just to the left inside the leftmost hallway, and I follow him smiling a bit at my new friend. This was gonna be an interesting day, that's for sure.
Special thanks to Rain372 for letting me use his character, Mizu Hikari, in this story! I promise he will have a bigger role soon enough.
