Chapter 4: Hang out

Author's POV

Cerise woke up with a bright smile on her face. I can't wait for the slumber party! She thought. She headed towards the door, going to the mall.

She told her friends Toby and Natalie that they will meet at Starbucks  at 9:30 to hang out and also buy stuff for the slumber party.

On the other side, Toby woke up early to prevent being late about their hang out. After his morning routine, he went downstairs and tip toed towards the door, carrying a back pack with him, filled with all his clothes and things for the slumber party.

Luckily, Toby escaped his father. He called a taxi then told the driver to head to the mall.

The transferee student, Natalie Oulette, woke up really early. Like 5:30. But went back to sleep cause she's really a night owl, which means she hates waking up early. She ended up waking at the time of 7:45, which freaked her out, a lot. "OH SHIT ITS ALREADY 7:45 am. CERISE IS GOING TO KILL ME." She screamed. And that's why Clockwork hates time.

Natalie did her routine and started preparing her things for the sleepover. I wish I prepared this last night! She thought to herself. After she did her morning routine, she thought what am I going to wear? Natalie grabbed some skinny jeans and a black shirt with a pair of black converse.

After that she checked the time in her pocket watch. She cusses under her breath. 30 minutes left $#%@!

Natalie ran towards the door, called a taxi, telling the driver to go to the mall.

Cerise's POV

I reached the mall at the time of 9:20 am. "Yes I'm 10 minutes early." I said to myself. I went to Starbucks and saw only a few people.

When I went inside, I saw a familiar looking boy with a hazel brown hair. I moved closer and saw that it was Toby after all. He waved at me and tapped the chair beside him, signaling me to sit beside.

"Good morning Toby." I greeted. "Good morning!" Toby said with a smile.

"Looks like your very excited for the slumber party huh?" He nodded in agreement.

"I'm really excited 'cause this is the first time that I had real friends." Toby explained.

I checked my IPhone watch, only to find out that it's already 9:34 am.

"I wonder where's Natalie..." Toby said.
"I'm pretty sure that she woke up early and went back to sleep." Toby's eyes widened with surprise. "The heck? Who does that?" He half screamed, half whispered.

"I know right. Natalie is really a night owl." I said. Since I'm worried, I texted Natalie.

Cerise: Where are u? We've been waiting for 20 minutes.

Natalie: I'm now at the entrance of the mall.

Cerise: See ya.

After 3 minutes, Natalie came. Her hair was a bit messy but that's not important. What's important is that she's already here.

"Where have you been?" Toby and I said. "Sorry. There was traffic." Natalie said with a nervous smile. "Why are you late?" I asked.

"Okay let me explain. //clears throat// I woke up really early like 5:30 in the morning. But went back to sleep 'cause I was sleepy. I ended waking up at the time of 7:45 am. Plus there was this stupid traffic on the road. Curse you time... You were too fast."

"Told ya she woke up early but went back to sleep." I said to Toby.

"Wow." Toby said with a hint of sarcasm in his voice.

There was a moment of awkward silence which I really hate, but good thing Toby broke the ice.

Toby's POV

There is this awkward silence that kills me. It wouldn't be bad if we break the ice right?

"So anyways let's talk about the slumber party." They nodded in agreement. "Cerise, what are the things we need to buy?" I asked.

She grabbed something from her bag, revealing a Crimson red notebook.

"These are the following things we need to buy. We need some food, 3 cans of sodas, and one flashlight." Cerise said.

"What's the flashlight for?" Natalie asked with a confused face. Cerise gave her the 'are you kidding me' look. "We need a flashlight because remember we are gonna do some horror stories and stuff. 'Kay?" Natalie nodded.

"So that's all?" I asked. Cerise nodded. "Yep. If you guys forgot to bring some toothbrush or something, we definitely had to add that to our grocery list." "Shit I left my toothbrush." Natalie said.

~At the grocery store~

Natalie's POV

We reached the grocery store in just a couple of minutes. Cerise told me to get 3 cans of sodas while she told Toby to bring some food. She also assigned herself to get a flashlight.

I went to the beverage isle (or something like that) to get some sodas. Hmm... Royal, Coke, or Sprite? I thought to myself.

I finally made my decision and grabbed one royal, one coke, and one sprite.

While I was heading to the cashier, I found some toothbrushes and toothpastes. I grabbed one of them and payed.

Cerise's POV
After we bought the things we needed, we went to the food court treat ourselves.

Natalie bought a Milkshake and sushi, Toby got waffles (as always) and a can of soda, while I treated myself with a slice of pizza and a cone of ice cream.

We finished our snacks within 5 minutes. "I'm so stuffed." Natalie said. I nodded. "Same here." Toby said, with his mouth still a bit full with waffles. All of us laughed with agreement.

We grabbed a taxi, telling the driver to go to Galaxy Street #441. After 25 minutes, we reached our destination.

After I paid the taxi driver, we knocked at the door. The door opened revealing a woman in with a smile on her face, which is my mom. "Make yourself at home." My mom said. Natalie and Toby trailed behind me as we went inside.

My mom told us to be a bit quiet when doing our slumber party. And also to be careful always.

"Well who knows that one of you will fall down the stairs, broke a bone/s, then ended up in the hospital, right?" Mom explained. We all nodded in agreement.

"Good. Now go and enjoy your slumber party. Goodnight kids." She said. "Goodnight." We all said.

After the chit chat with mom, me and my friends went to my room, to finally celebrate our first slumber party.
