I never knew I was one of them.

I fix my hair in a ponytail one, letting my side bangs fall freely. Looking myself at the mirror, I stare back blankly.
Bloodshot eyes, sickly pale complexion, and healing scars.
We've been investigating the case of Lulu the whole night, no sleep at all. Yet I'm still wondering why I don't have dark bags under my eyes.
Eh.
This the least of my concerns.
I shake my head, as if under a weird daze. I slip on my knee-length boots, matching my violet/black dress.

I went down the stairs, heading to the kitchen. Most of the family (yeah my fam) are just hanging around, with Sally playing with Teddy, Benny playing his newly bought (more like stolen 😂) Nintendo, and Jeff sharpening his knife.
He seems to notice my presence and stares at my direction. This guy is surely giving me— all of us the cold demeanor.
I shift my gaze and went to the table, grabbing 2 pancakes, putting lots of whipped cream on the with strawberry on top. I licked my upper lip unconsciously 'cause damn it looks delicious ('-ω-')
I was about to take one wonderful bite when two hands grabbed the plate away from my line of sight.
And I think we all know who the hell it is.
"TOBY ERIN ROGERS GIVE ME MY PANCAKES!" I shouted at him at the top of my lungs.
"Hmmm . . . hOW AbOuT nO" Toby's eye twitches in madness.
I stood up from my chair and prepared myself to lunged at him but instead I fell down the floor with a loud thud. Looking down my boots, I saw that they are tied together in a skillful manner.
"Curses!" I said in full frustration and annoyance.
The latter in front of me suddenly bursts in laughter.
"Doesn't mean you have such high boots you'll reach my tall height! Hahaha!"

Toby finally settled down after giving himself stack of pancakes. I can still clearly remember his impressed and shocked face after seeing it.
