Cerise's POV

So after the chat about Midnight the cat, we continued our game which is Truth or Dare. I also learned lots of things from our activities.

Like Natalie is a Night owl and her worst enemy is Time. Toby's favorite food are waffles. How come I didn't notice that?

After the game we had, we talked and shared some horror stories that "should" scare the shit out of you.

Well me? Didn't affect me a teeny bit cause I'm not afraid of spooky ghosts, monsters, and stuff like that. But I'm not saying that they're not real.

After that, we had a movie marathon and also ate some snacks/dinner while watching the movie. I ate some pasta and that serves as my dinner. Natalie ate pizza. She ate one box of it. Good thing I ordered 3 boxes of pizza which means me and Toby can still get to eat some. Well Toby? He ate a long stack of waffles. Jesus Christ. Natalie and Toby must really be addicted to food.

When the last movie finished, which is the 5th movie we watched, we went to bed since it's already late. We cleaned our mess and prepared ourselves to sleep.

Natalie was the first one to doze off to sleep. I can tell that she is really tired because of her snoring.

Speaking of sleeping, I can't go to sleep for some reason. Like it's 11:58 already and it's almost midnight! I just have this feeling that I'm being watched by some person or some creature or something like that.

I was about to close my eyes again to attempt to go to sleep then all of a sudden a hand touched my shoulder, which made me scream so loud, that I think the neighbors heard me. This 'random person' a while ago covered my mouth. As soon as I faced the person, it was just freaking Toby.

"What the hell?!" I half-screamed. He looked at me with his brown orbs filled with innocence. "I'm sorry if I scared you, Cerise. I just want to ask you to get some glass of water." Toby apologized.

"Oh okay. Come with me." I said. I opened the door slowly so that the sleeping Natalie won't wake up. We went down the stairs, making a creaking sound every step we take. I grabbed a glass and then filled it with cold water and handed it to Toby. He smiled and then thanked me.

While Toby was drinking his glass of water, I went to the living room to check the doors of they are lock. When I went there, I noticed that the Television wasn't turned off. This is highly unusual cause my mom never does this like never. She always tells me to turn off the lights or TV when not in use. I began finding the remote of the TV and found it on the couch.

When I went a little closer to the remote, I noticed that there was a strip of paper underneath it.

I picked it up, due to curiosity. I know that they say that "Curiosity kills the cat". But I can protect myself.

"Expect the Unexpected."

This was the sentence, or should I say the quote written in the paper. It does sound quite strange really but, it actually makes sense. It happened to me several times in my life.

"Cerise, I'm done drinking." Toby said. He started walking towards me to see what I was looking at and I quickly put the strip of paper in my pocket. "What was that?" He asked. Beads of sweat started rolling down my face and then I can't believe what I did next. "Just a paper from a fortune cookie." I lied.

Argghhhhh! I hate lying!

"Oh okay. Come on let's go to sleep." Toby answered. Wow I can't believe he believed my lie I just said from my stupid mouth.

Toby started walking upstairs and I trailed behind him, still thinking about the piece of paper. We reached my room and prepared (again) ourselves to bed.

"Goodnight Cerise."

"Goodnight Toby." I replied.

Then after that, silence filled the room, ghat you can hear a pin drop. After a few minutes I heard Toby snore, which means his already asleep, and yeah don't forget Natalie. I stood up, not being able to sleep looked outside my window. Stars are painted in the sky, shining brightly.

Still thinking about the strip of paper, questions filled my mind like crazy.

Expect the Unexpected?

What the hell does that mean?

Does it have something to do with my weird dream in the first place?

I just groaned and flopped on top the bed, closed my eyes, hoping these questions will come to stop inside my damn head. I checked the clock and it's already 12:04. Great.

After a I prayed, my eyelids then suddenly feel heavy, telling me that it's time to go to sleep.

I woke up, feeling uncomfortable. Sweats are forming on my face. I grabbed some face towel and wiped it. I check the clock and it's 2:13 in the morning. What the hell? Why would I wake up even though I was already feeling cozy?

I just shrugged it off and went back to sleep, forgetting about what just happened.

The next day, Toby and Natalie started packing up their things, to finally return to their homes. I told both of them about what just happened this morning and Toby gave me the 'I know why' look.

"Some people say that if you wake up between 1 and 3 am, they said that someone is watching you." He explained.

When he said "someone is watching you", it send cold shivers down mg spine, feeling completely scared. "So that's why I was feeling uncomfortable..." I said, almost inaudible.

After we ate our breakfast, Toby and Natalie waited at the living room. Toby said that her mother will pick him up, including Natalie.

After a few minutes, we hear a honk outside. It must be Toby's mother. I said in my mind. Me and my mother bud goodbyes as they entered the car.

"Bye!" They both said.

When they were gone, I feel bored. Scratch that, I'm alone again. At least I have new friends...
