Val's Pov

"And so, that's why I think Kanye West is a living Ebola virus" Xavier proudly said finishing his tale, munching on his sandwich as they laughed

"What is your problem with Kanye West?" Dawn chuckled, Xaiver shrugging his shoulders in response

"I don't know, it feels like he has wronged me in some way" Xaiver muttered

I poked my sandwich, not listening to their converstation, feeling lonely and sad. Eliot noticed, his curiosity controlling his mouth

"What's wrong with Val? She looks like she's in deep thought" Eliot asked, I snapped into reality as soon as I heard my name

"W-what?" I said in confusion, Eliot glaring in wonder

"I said what's wrong with you" he asked once more and I awkwardly laughed.

"I don't actually know. I guess since all of you are hating on Kanye but me" I plastered the most sincere smile I could find onto my face, staring at my lifeless sandwich

"I see" Eli gave a we-need-to-talk-now look and I glared at her, having a secret staring conversation

"Okay that is it!" Eli slammed her fists at the table and recieved some glares from the other students "Let's go. Now" she pulled my arm and dragged me outside the cafeteria

"Whatevers bothering you, tell me" she demanded. What a hard headed friend

"I told you its nothing, really" I smiled fakely "This is so not you Val" Eli crossed her arms

"That's the problem, you don't know me!" I bursted out then suddenly realized what I had just said

"I-i'm sorry, i-its just family stuff" I sighed

"Its okay if you don't want to say it. But if your ready, tell me. Its better to fight those darkness with someone than to fight it alone" she smiled brightly going back to her original self

The bell rang meaning lunch is finally over. I rushed back to my next class, science. I sat on my desk located beside the window.

"Goodaftenoon everyone, today we will be talking about Oneirology, the study of dreams" she clapped happily at the thought of the new lesson

"You need to pick partners, and each of you will interpret the dreams that your partner had. You can pick a dream that you remember or a recent one. Each of you will present in front of the class what you think your partner's dream is about" The teacher explained carefully

We got up and began looking for partners. Sadly I don't have a friend to partner up with. And since i'm an introverted person I just sat and waited for someone to approach me.

I looked around noticing that others already found someone, then I heard someone groaning and the sound of stomping increased

"Really if your just gonna sit there nothing will happen" Ethan crossed his arms and pouted like a child

"Why do you care" I copied him, crossing my arms

"You don't get it do you" he sighed nervously "nope, not a single clue" I shook my head

"Argh" Ethan ran his hands on his hair and I looked at him, confused at his sudden actions

"How do I say this... Ugh okay, I want to be your partner..." I was about to protest but he put his finger on his lips signaling me to shut up

"I will only do this because you look so helpless, sitting there and wandering for someone to get you, and because I want to get to know you a little more" he scrached the nape of his neck

At first I was scared

Scared of telling him what my dreams are about

Scared of him knowing about my horrible past, especially to someone I don't fully trust

But then I realized that what Eli said 'Its better to fight those darkness with someone than to fight it alone'

I need someone to release all the hidden sadness and pain inside me

"If that's what you want... then sure, why not give it a try" I smiled "You should've seen your face when you asked me" I laughed, Ethan rolled his eyes in annoyance

"Whatever, let's meet at the coffee shop near your house after class" He said without showing any emotions. For a second he looked fine and all. What a moody person, especially for a guy

School ended with a snap of Thanos' finger. I grabbed my stuff then walked to the nearest coffee shop near our house

I entered the coffee shop and saw Ethan with the same little girl at the park, but she was sitting on a wheel chair with an oxygen mask wrapped around her mouth

I suddenly remembered Quinn when she was at the same state as her, but I decided to shrug it off and not let it take over my emotions

I walked towards them and waved "Hey guys, what do we gave here?" I smiled at the little girl

"Val, this is Joy, my beautiful little sister..." He touched the tip of Joy's nose, 'what a cute sight to see' I thought to myself, "Joy, this is Val, my classmate" He pointed towards me

"Val? As in the girl that you accidentally knocked out?" She asked out of curiosity then, Ethan's eyes widened at her question

"How many times do I have to tell you, it was the door" he began explaining, Joy only giggled at his statement. The fun was cut off when a man wearing a bkack suit went to our table and whispered something to Ethan. I could tell that Ethan's positive vibe faded and was replaced with a sad expression, he nodded to the guy and faced us

"Is it time for me to go home?" Joy frowned "Yeah" Ethan sighed and the stranger took Joy who waved sadly.

"Whoa, what just happened" I asked "Its nothing" he told me

"What happend to Joy?" I knew it was too soon to ask that kind of question right now, but my mouth was filled with curiosity

"Also none of your business" he glared at me "let's just... focus on the task at hand" he continued

And I thought I was the only one that has many secrets behind my sleeves, turns out he has too.
