"Wait... she's mine?" Dustin asked, looking at me. Everyone around us took a step back.
"Maybe." I said.
"I have a daughter." Dustin said, walking back until he landed on the couch. He sat there silently. "I can't believe I have a daughter."
"Well believe it because you do." I said. He looked up at me.
"I remember the day I left. You told me you had something to tell me, but I was being selfish that day. I should have let you tell me your news first." Dustin said.
"It's okay." I said. "I love my life now."
"Oh." Dustin said. "I should go."
"Don't go!" Candace said. He looked over at her. "You can't just go you just got here."
"Candace, if he wants to go you should let him." I said. Dustin bent down to her size.
"Hey I'll be back. I'm staying in town for a while." Dustin said. Candace's bottom lip came out and I knew what that meant. It wasn't long before the tears started to fall down her face. "OH MY GOD WHAT JUST HAPPENED?! WHAT DO I DO?! I BROKE HER! I JUST MET MY DAUGHTER AND I ALREADY BROKE HER!" Dustin started freaking out, making me burst into laughter.
"You didn't break her." I said, walking over to Candace and picking her up.
"What? I didn't?" Dustin asked.
"No, she just got upset because you're leaving." I said. "She has a point. You just got here and just met her."
"So?" Dustin said, looking at me puzzled.
"So stay."
