The rain hit the ground and me as I walked. Daniel offered to give me a ride home, but I turned him down. Being with him in the car won't help me. He broke up with me.
"I'm home." I called as I walked through, shaking my soaked hair.
"Hey how was- why are you so wet?" Dustin asked.
"It's raining outside." I said.
"So you got this wet walking from the car to the porch?" Dustin asked. I looked at him. I knew the tears were in my eyes waiting to spill. "What happened?"
"Um... Daniel broke up with me." I said, the tears started to fall. Dustin pulled me into his arms. I leaned my head on his shoulders. I smelled his shoulder while I sniffed, remembering the smell of the man I have loved since I was sixteen.
"Did he say why?" Dustin asked.
"I didn't really stay to hear it." I said. "How was Candace?"
"Well, I fed her dinner which went fine and then after she wanted to play fairy princess." Dustin said. I looked really close to his face. I started laughing.
"Is that make up on your face?" I asked. Dustin looked away.
"Noooooo."
"It is!" I said, laughing more. I was about to say something else when the doorbell went off. I went to get it. I opened the door to see Kendall Schmidt and his girlfriend Mica standing on my porch.
"Is Dustin here?" Kendall asked. "I'm here to take him back to LA."
