Caleb and I look between one another with fearful expressions.

"Do you think it's Mephistor?" I ask while trying to remember if I had disclosed our location while we were together.

"I don't know, Al."Caleb begins. He looks back into the car at the GPS."But by the looks of it, whoever is coming, is coming quickly."

"How quickly?" I ask raising a brow.

"I'd say we have less than an hour before they arrive."

Panic floods through me. If it was Mephistor who was on his way right now, he would undoubtably kill Caleb and Klaus for helping me escape. Although I couldn't seem to shake the feelings that I had developed for him lately I knew that I would not let him hurt my friends.

If it was someone else on their way to us, however, I had no idea what to expect.

This cottage was six hours away from the castle and all civilization, and since we had only been here for less then two hours it could only be assumed that whoever was tracking us knew where we were headed by means of some device.

I wondered then if Mephistor's mind control over Caleb might have lead him to us. He could have looked the place over before advancing on me.

Not likely. My mind thought out loud. He was too preoccupied to really get a good look at the cottage.

My cheeks heat up slightly at the thought.

Being as secretive as he is, it was unlikely that Mr. Burke had disclosed the location of this cottage to anyone before. The only reason that it was safe for us was because it would not be easy to find. However, whoever was after us had found it easily. Almost too easily.

"Could someone have tracked us?" I ask.

"Possibly." Responds Caleb."I don't know how they would have done it though. I don't have anything trackable on me, and I already inspected the car."

Mephistor's mind control was now the only reasonable explanation. It had be, right?

"What about Mephistor?" I suggest."He has control over your mind. Could he have disclosed the location from you while you were unaware?"

Caleb ponders for a moment. His hand goes up to run through his hair in stress.

"He could have. It's definitely a possibility, but, I have a pretty good grasp of my consciousness when he takes over. I immediately retreat into the back of my mind and hide the secrets of the resistance as well as my own. Like I said before, it's possible, but I think it's highly unlikely."

"Got any other ideas?" I ask.

Caleb shakes his head before reaching a hand back and scratching at the back of his head again. He seems to be feeling for something that's causing the discomfort on his face. When he rubs the source of his pain he winces.

"I've got nothing."

"Are you alright?" I watch him wince again.

"I've got this sitting head ache." He begins."I keep hearing this beeping in the back of my head."

I freeze.
