I still stood there rooted to the ground. It felt as if my legs were dead and I can't move them. I thought back then that Kai was an idiot. He doesn't understand me at all. After all, he hasn't lived a childhood full of betrayal and lies. If he only knew what was going on with my life, my emotions and my thoughts. He's an idiot interfering in my life.

I went home after an hour or so. I went upstairs and locked myself in the library. I wanted to be there, for some reason I felt the urge to go there. I looked through the shelves for a book that had something to do with the feeling of being trapped. I found this book called 'Everything Everything'. Madeline had lived a life trapped in a house and I had lived a life of freedom. She had only two people to love and had the world to love. She was known by only known by her tutors, nurse, and her mom and I had an entire town to myself. Somehow comparing lives makes me feel better about myself.

I got up and left for Kai's room. I opened the room slowly. He looked up at me and asked what I wanted. I told him I just wanted to talk.

"Ok... fine. Sit. Tell me."

"You know my past," I began my tale, "was the worst ever. I didn't always have horrible parents. We were a happy middle-class family till Dario came along. We both were in the same middle school and same class. Eventually, we fell in love and started dating. He was my very first love and I was ready to give up anything for him. Suddenly, he started to seem down. I asked why and the reason was his father. His father wasn't giving any money for his business. And like I said before 'I was ready to give up anything for him'. I borrowed money from my parents. Back then mom used to work. I promised to give the money back somehow. But......."

I took a breath. I hated the story after this.

"... he ran away. He took the money and ran away. He never came back. I later heard he ran away to Mexico and later got arrested for smuggling. I was not only angry because he took the money and ran away but because he played with my feelings." I stopped for another breath. Kai held on to me.

"After that, my family went upside down. Dad lost his temper and screamed at mom and beat her. Dad never talked in such a high voice or did any harm. Mom stopped working after that. Dad did forget that incident but he didn't forget to go back to our happy days. He kept on harming us. Now we are an aggressive high-class family."

After an awkward silence, Kai hugged me and said "Don't worry I'm always here for you. I'll always listen. But now let's talk to your parents."
