We walk away, out of the Nintendo area and away from my only friends. I surreptitiously wipe a few tears away as we amble about the vast room. A silence rolls over Ethan and me. After a few seconds, I realize he's still holding my hand. I don't let go. "Those people are jerks. Don't listen to them." He says finally, turning to look at me, his eyes melting my heart. I nod, looking away.

"I know. I just wish I had the guts to say something sooner. Before... well everything," I think back to Drew's sad look-- I can't believe he didn't say anything...

"I'm sorry, Alex" I blink and look at Ethan. His eyes are filled with sorrow.

"Thank you, but don't feel bad. It's their fault, and if they don't feel remorse, well... I guess that proves the fact that I should've left them earlier," I say shortly. He squeezes my hand lightly as if to reassure me everything is okay.

We walk on, hands still intertwined. We pass many stops, but nothing seems to interest us. Suddenly, Ethan stops, nearly causing me to fall backward from the force. "What's the matter?"

"I forgot I have a panel to go to! It's in..." he checks his watch and yelps. "Three minutes!" He sprints, dragging me along with him. Zig-zagging in between people, we run half the length of the building, and reach the door of what I can assume is a large stage room, both of us panting a little. A guard stands outside. He looks a lot tougher and stern than Mr. Banks. We walk up, and he puts his arm in front of the door, blocking the way.

"Panel-contenders only." Ethan holds up an official-looking badge.

"I'm Ethan Nestor, on the Markiplier and Friends panel with Mark Fischbach, Tyler Scheid, and Seán McLoughlin." He states, showing the badge. The guard takes a scanner from his utility belt and places it above the badge. It beeps, blinking green twice. He opens the door, gesturing for us to go inside. I try to follow Ethan inside, but the guard puts a hand out to stop me.

"Like I said: Panel-contenders only," he says flatly.  I sigh. It was worth a shot.

"Right. See you, Ethan. Thanks for walking around with me, I really appreciate it," I wave sadly and turn to walk away. Before I take even one step he quickly grabs my wrist, looking at the officer.

"No, she can come! She's my... my girlfriend! My girlfriend, yeah" He lets go of my hand and puts his around my waist, pulling my side flush to his, smiling brightly. The guard looks at me questioningly. I give as big as a smile I can muster, resting my head on Ethan's shoulder, putting my arm around his other.

"Yeah. If there are any empty seats in the back, I could sit there until the end, so I don't have to wait out here. Do you mind, sir? Please?" He contemplates. Please think faster, I'm turning redder by the second. I know my blush could give us away and I silently curse my body's instincts.

"Fine. Very back row, section C. The aisle seat. No one is sitting in that row. If anyone questions you, show them this." He hands me a card, with a picture of him, with his full name and officer ID code. I beam.

"Thank you, Mr..." I read the card. "Smith. Thank you!" We walk, and he closes the door. We quickly drop our arms to our sides. Ethan's cheeks are dusted with pink, and mine is the color of tomatoes. He walks up to the dressing room and stops before opening the door.

"Listen. Come wait out here when the panel ends. Don't come back until every person who paid to be here is gone, okay? I'll see you later, Alex!" He says with a smile, his cheeks still slightly flushed. I nod as he opens the door, walking through, and closes it behind him. I walk out onto the stage and run quickly down the stairs. They're opening at 10:30 according to the schedule that was taped in front of the dressing room. I check my watch. I have about a minute left I jog down the thirty-foot aisle and sit in my chair looking around the theatre. The doors open a few seconds later, and people run in, not even noticing that I've been here before them, rushing to their seats.

After a few minutes, everyone is seated and has settled down. The lights fade out and people go silent. I feel everyone's anticipation tingling in the air, including my own. Then, the stage lights up, prompting Ethan, Mark, Tyler, and Jack to walk out onto the stage. Everyone screams and claps. I settle in my seat, grinning ear to ear. This's going to be a good show.
