"Okay babe, go with purple then" Jalen told me. He was helping me decide on what color I should wear since we were hanging with his friends today. I picked purple and he picked green, but I really wanted to wear purple.
"Fine" I grabbed the purple shirt and pulled out my purple gym shoes.
"Can I ask you a question Rae?"
"Hit me"
"Will you always love me?" He asked
I looked up at him with concern. He never asked me this before. "Yes, you know that already Jalen. There's no question about it."
"Okay"
"Why'd you ask me that?" I put my hands on my hips and looked at him before putting my shoes on.
"I just wanted to make sure."
"Is there something you need to tell me?" I gasped "Are you cheating on me? If you are then tell me now." I can't believe him
"No Rae! No! Hell no! That's not it. I would never cheat on you. Don't you ever think that again!" He hugged me
Tears were welling up in my eyes. Why would I worry myself like that? "Are you sure?"
"Yes I'm sure. I'm planning on making you my wife one day." He looked up at me
"Jalen, you know what I would go back to doing if you left me."
"Don't think that way. That's another reason why I would never leave you." He kissed my nose
He scared me. Why would he make my mind race like that? He even made me bring up....that. I hate bringing that up. I shook it off. I was too much into it.
"I love you Desirae"
"I love you too Jalen" I smiled at him
He grabbed my waist and kissed my forehead

"Now what happened?" Roy asked me as I walked up to him
"My fucking mom. She messed my whole mood up for today."
"What'd she do?"
"She blew up for no reason. It started off with her telling me that she's pregnant. She was crying and started talking about it was a mistake and she didn't mean to get preggo and how she wanted to have her next kid with my dad. And she knows how sensitive I am on the subject of my dad. I'm like okay Mom, you couldn't have your next kid with him. Oh fucking well, you let that nigga nut in you that's your problem."
"Does she know who the Dad is?"
"Nope."
"Wow. Time to call Maury!"
"You're so goofy." He always picked me up when I was down.
Roy's friends Damarri and Trey had walked up to us. I knew them because sometimes I play basketball with them. They're like brothers to me.
"Wassup bro" Damarri said "Hey Mani"
"Hey Marri" I waved
"Hey bro and Imani"
"Wassup man" Roy said while dapping both of them
"Hey Trey" I said
"Where they at?" Roy asked Damarri
"They'll be here in a minute" he said while looking at his phone.
I was pretty excited to meet the girls. I hope we get along, but I try to think on the more positive side. So, I'm better off with saying that I have a good vibe about this.
