A shuffling sound was distributed in the calm evening. It was gentle at first but became rapid not long after. The bush leaves rattled and danced in the sunlight upon the force of hands.

The hands, still small of like a child, had spread from the inside of the bushes, barging their way through.

A head peeked out... it was covered in drying blood.

Two eyes were in the head, sobbing and crying, lip quivering and body shaking.

He was running away.

He didn't care where he was. He only hoped to have not been found...

But alas...

"What the fuck?" A voice made the small boy freeze in the bush.

Terrified, his hold on the fence behind the bush loosened unintentionally and his body had fallen face-first into the brick pathway.

"Oh my god!" The owner of the voice had begun to run over to the fallen boy.

Gentle arms had caressed his tired body...

"Are you okay?

What are you doing here?"

The voice suddenly sounded familiar to the boy...

It was unintentional for them to meet, but it was fate.

"Miss Davis?"
The boy questioned.

There was a pause after that...

Perhaps he was wrong...

"Kevin - it's you?"
Replied the woman, completely shocked above him.

His head rose to see his teacher, surprised...

Ella Davis looked back at him in shock.

"You're covered in blood..."

"Can I stay here?" He interrupted her before she could question further.

His teacher was quite surprised...

She leaned away from him...

"Can I stay here for just a day?" He changed his suggestion, disappointed.

He avoided her gaze...

"S-Sure..."

"Why won't you talk to me" Ella questioned carefully.

Kevin was sitting on the small guest couch.

"You technically broke into my backyard, Kevin... I have the right to at least know what happened," She pushed him.

However, the boy sat unmovingly...

Ella had sighed.
