Time for chapter 3! Warning its going to be a little long!
I felt my hands move up and down the clay, letting the moist substance slip in between my short skinny fingers. The cold, grey clay began to stick to my hands as I began to mold the shape of my vase. The wheel spun quickly, splattering some clay here and there as I sculptured. The whole time I was creating, I still hadn't noticed the body that had been watching my every move since I began.
"I wonder what color I should make this." I thought to myself as a smoothed out the sides. "Should I paint it red....or maybe sea turtle green.....or blue....Yes! I'll paint it the shade of Louis's eyes! But there's not no one color that can match it perfectly....I'll find one." I smoothed the edges on the top as the vase not caring if I got clay under my nails. I looked at the clock that hung above the pottery classroom door. "1:45. Perfect! Finished right on time." I gathered my carving materials and headed over to the sink that was on the South wall, still unaware of the eyes that were following me.
I turned on the hot water and dumped all the materials in the silver, tube-like sink. I scrapped off the clay the was hugging my tools and plopped it in the white bucket next to me. After cleaning, I started to remove the clay the clung to my hands for dear life. I shivered. I finally felt someone watching me. I turned and looked around the classroom. Emaan was talking to Katherine and Fatima in the corner of the classroom near the windows. Nick and John (the other people in my class) were throwing clay at each other near the pottery wheels. Everyone else had their back to me, so I shrugged thinking I was just imagining things. I glanced back at the clock. 1:55. "5 minutes left" I muttered to myself. I turned off the facet and tried my hands. I threw the paper towel in the trash and put back my carving tools in the proper shelf.
I went back to my wheel and carefully picked up my still wet vase and walked over to the kennel that was near the sink. I placed the tall vase on the lower level of the kennel. I closed the top and turned it on, with the flick of the switch.
I walked back over to my stool, letting my grey TOMS shuffle across the dusty white title floor which looked like it had never been clean in its life. I stopped, confused, as I saw a body sitting on my destination. The body was wearing a 49ers hoodie with baggy blue jeans and Jordans. I felt like I've seen that outfit earlier today but I couldn't put my finger on it to who it was.
"Umm...excuse me?" I called to the body, as I edged closer feeling some what intimated by the looming figure. "Your in my seat." The body turned to me and I felt my face drain of all the color that was left that hadn't been drained from the cold of winter.
The body that had been watching me, the body I hadn't noticed all class, the body that had just ruined the only peaceful place I had left. The body was the body of the horrible person, that horrible person that destroyed every single happy place I had. Tom. Tom fucking Parker was sitting on my stool holding a pink slip of paper that I knew wasn't good news in his large, disgusting hand.
"Hello Emma." Tom sneered. I stood frozen. Unable to move or speech back to this person that I wished was died with all my heart. He waved the slip in his left hand like he was waving a million dollars in my face. He smirked after I still haven't said anything.
"Wh-what are you doing here?" I sputtered out after what seemed like forever. He looked at me with his garbage colored eyes. He held up the pink slip of paper so I could read the words in bold black Arial font. "Class change for Tom Parker. Change of class: Wheel-Throwing with Mrs. Cane period 6. I felt my tiny figure starting to shake. "Are you the only one changing in?" I gulped. Usually if you want to switch class, there has to be another person that's willing to switch with you. He nodded his head slightly to the left as if he was pointing to someone. I followed his movements and I felt the color leap back in my drained face. There, talking to Mrs. Cane, wearing a green Beverly Hills High basketball jacket, black shorts, and basketball sneakers was the only happiness that Tom could never take away from me. Louis Tomlinson stood looking like a perfect sculpture that should be placed in a museum of fine arts. His features were sharp, with his cheek bones well distinguished, and his hair was styled with a slight quiff.
My heart pounded loudly as I spied the same pink slip of paper Tom was waving at me earlier. I prayed that no one would have noticed how loud my heart was pounding because I was pretty sure you could here it from the savannas in Africa. It was that loud. I felt like my heart was going to explode as Louis turned and looked eyes with me. It felt like such a honor to have those gorgeous blue eyes to look upon mine. My cheeks flustered as he smiled and waved at me. Yup, I'm pretty sure that kid was going to be the death of me.
I hadn't noticed Tom, who sat fuming next to me as I was staring at Louis until he grabbed my binder and my wrist and pulled my out of the class right as the bell rung. In the flash of bodies and Tom pulling me, I saw Louis' beautiful face, bewildered by Tom's actions. Oh that face...WAIT TOM IS PULLING MY WRIST! FUCK!
I snapped myself out of my daydreaming and faced reality. My wrist felt like it was on fire underneath Tom's strong grip. I pulled hard, digging in my heels in the hallway floor, flinging Tom back. He stumbled and let go of my wrist and my binder that he was holding in his other hand. I looked at him with lots of fear in my eyes. The last time he did this, he pulled my all the way to the back of the school alley and kicked me over and over again, whispering hateful things in my ears until everything went black. There was no way in hell I was going to let him do that again. I ran over, picked up my binder with one fell whoop, and sprinted over to the school's doors. I turned back and saw Tom stand up and start sprinting after me with hatred in his eyes. I screamed and started running even faster. I ran through the courtyard trying to dodge all the human bodies that had flooded through the doors. I turned the corner of the school and started racing up the side street of the school. If I could make it to the soccer fields I could probably lose him. I as I was deep in my thoughts trying to figure out a plan I didn't notice the small ditch in the road.
I tripped and fell hard on my stomach, smacking my face against the cold pavement road. I let out a sob as I felt a stinging on the side of my cheek and saw a little drop of blood splash on to the road. I turned around and right in my face was the monster.
"Wow, you can't even run without falling right on your wimpy face." Tom laughed bitterly. "I'm not happy with you Emma. You ruined my new sneakers because of your little race." Tom stood up and launched a foot right into my stomach making me gag a little. "Looks like its going to happen again you little bitch!" Tom screamed at me. "You don't belong on this earth! I hate you! I fucking hate you, you slut! You whore!" I started to cry, I couldn't get the energy to scream for help because Tom was draining my voice with every kick and hateful thing he said. Tom stepped back landing another hard kick in my stomach, screaming "YOUR A FUCKING DISGRACE!" He shoved up his sweatshirt and looked at the sports watch on his wrist then smiled as he looked down on my bloody, bruised body. "I think that's enough for now." He placed a foot on top of me. I grimaced in pain while Tom smirked obviously proud of his dirty work. "I have basketball in 10 minutes and I need to change, so I have to go sweetheart. To bad I couldn't knock you out before I left." He laughed and walked away leaving my body on the side of the street.
"Why...why did Tom do this to me? Why?" Was the last thing I thought before everything vanished in a black darkness.
